If they are look alikes but the color and shape is slightly different ... they stink when squashed and can bite/sting. Very annoying.

Did anyone add the hand spray option? The wife saw one and said HMMMM, pretended I didn't hear her. Kirt We added the hand sprayer and find it very useful. As Edd points out, the shower head in some rigs can serve the same purpose. We haven’t used the bowl brush since we got the hand sprayer.

Word of mouth campfire wisdom suggests 7” ... which I have. With 5”, just be very careful when crossing uneven ground. I think you will find the recommended clearance is 5". Here is from eTailer: if you take a look at the linked diagram you can see the minimum recommended clearance distances between truck and trailer for 5th wheel towing. It is recommended to have at least 5-inches from the top of the bed rails to the bottom of the trailer overhang.
Reese Goosebox recommends 7" But we could live with 5 1/2 to 6 1/2" I suppose.

'18 Gold. The thetford Aqua Magic style II that came in the coach water valve started leaking. NP with that, straight forward fix.
BUT - putting the pedal back on, the return spring came off. Damn if I could get back on.
So, gonna replace the toilet.
Question, I could replace it with the same unit, or I was thinking about a Dometic 320.
Has anyone done that? Thinking about clearances, etc.
Right now, just gonna do a manual flush with the water valve.
Thanks, Al
We did the 320 ... it's a very tight fit, but it's a MUCH better toilet. The seat and ceramic bowl are residential quality. Edd did the 310 and it has a soft close lid, ours does not have that. It was the wife that pushed for the 320 (oval seat). The fit was VERY tight, as in just barely.

We have noticed that there is a vent on the back wall on the bottom of the pantry in our 356RLT, and it appears to go into the basement. My wife has voiced concern that this is a short path for insects to go from the basement into the pantry. Anyone know why the put in this vent this way? Any issues with blocking this vent? It is the return air for your furnace. You can block it as long as you don’t use the furnace. When using the furnace, this return air path MUST be open and is what keeps your water pipes from freezing in the basement area.

I was told the keyless locks eat batteries very quickly, true or false? Kirt I'd say false. Mine last about 6 months of full time living ...

Wife has long hair and it clogs the drain every few months. If you look at the little metal piece in the bottom of the shower it has a small disk like this: View Attachment
Use a small screw driver, I use a pocket knife, and lift it out. Under is an X that will be filled with hair, the knife again to lift it out. I read in an RV magazine not to use drain cleaners. I have no idea why as the plumbing is exactly the same used in the sticks & bricks, the only differance is the holding tank. It's a tank not a septic system that breaks down the solids, you open a valve and drain it. I see no reason to not use Draino if you wanted.
I don't use DrainO, but I have used liquid plumber (which specifically says "safe for plastics"). It works like a charm.

Just a note on the talc powder ... there have been lawsuits about women using this kind of product for "freshness" ... supposed to be a carcinogen. Just use a painters mask to avoid inhaling the powder dust.

Many of us have issues that we request the help of others to solve. It would benefit all of us, if someone gave you the solution ... or if you figure it out on your own, if you would post the solution so we can all benefit from these things. People often offer helpful suggestions and never hear another word. So consider closing the loop ... we would all benefit from that.
Thanks,
Ron

Cheap option. My DG was not pre wired nor was the rear Bunkhouse boxes in for a third AC. I had my dealer frame the AC and install it while it was down for warranty service. They took pity on my after having it the better part of a year and installed it below cost. I bought a heavy duty extension cord (10 gauge) and wired it up to the AC. The cord is attached to the ladder and another 10 gauge extension cord will be plugged in at the camp site to run the third ac if needed. I have read about several people doing this and no one had any issues as long as a heavy duty cord was used. A separately powered 3rd AC is a great option. Suggest you buy an adapter to allow it to be plugged into the 30 amp plug. The normal 15 amp plug on most power poles is a GFI outlet and subject to frequent trips. Also, if the GFI fails, it’s an expensive fix and is often not repaired for that reason. The 30 amp plug with the 15 amp adapter should be a more reliable power source.

Sounds like the compressor was not kicking on. Not familiar with your zone system so I don’t know if that is a contributor.

Good to hear they are going with third ac option. I have been here pleased with the way my two units have handled the 105-110 west Texas heat. On a side note after first of year we are probably gonna put a home on land we just bought, and sell the Durango. For us, the highest temps we’ve hit is 107 and by pre cooling the rig early in the day, we have been able to keep the rig comfortable (80 inside). Honestly, I think that’s about all this rig can handle. This is what brought up the third AC discussion. Although it doesn’t happen often, we have seen 115. That would probably put us in a hotel.

My front living room gets hot during day on high 90’s low 100. Think next one will not be a front living. Our bedroom is cold and when you step down in the kitchen it’s at least 5 degrees cooler. Thinking of putting in insulation in front behind cap . I'm working on the right now, living areas good, bedroom no so much. Wish there was a vent & fan in there, might be another add here in the future. Edd ... are you going to install a third AC unit? Ron

There is one more solution to adding a third air conditioner. In my unit, the 3rd ac installation can be in the hole currently occupied by the max air exhaust fan in the kitchen. It is a 15kw unit (could be a heat pump) it is not ducted but just an old school blows out of the inside unit. It is powered by a separate 120v 15 amp line that plugs into the power pole ... this allows all 3 to run simultaneously and will cool the house down no matter what the temperatures. It also serves to provide a way to still cool the rig if one of the ac’s goes down. It is an intriguing idea that I am seriously considering. Just something else to consider.
Update. I've got the third AC on order (backordered really), and hope to have it up and running late August. I'll let you all know how this goes.
Third AC installed today (12 Oct). 15,000 btu with an electric heat strip. It’s still hot here (99 yesterday) ... looks good, looks like it has always been there. The tech did a good job of routing the wires for power and thermostats so that they are out of sight Very professional installation, power is in the wet bay compartment so that the power wire goes out the same hole that the water lines go out. No new holes (or possible water leaks) in the side of the rig. We’re ready for just about any temps now. Some might consider this expensive, but a very good upgrade, and this is our home, so worth it IMO.

That sounds like a design defect. My ceiling fan will spin with both slides in. X2 ... my blades do not touch with slides in.

first thing I did was to change to the sailun tires . Wheels on my durango rated to 125 psi. Two years no issues. 5000 miles. i feel safer with them. You sure about factory wheels rated to 125 psi? My factory wheels were rated to 110 psi.
