Anyone know what’s safe to pour down shower drain that’s slow? Thanks for the help.

It depends on whether or not you have one of these miserable things: linkIf you have one it might be best to remove it for gentle cleaning, if you have a standard P trap use any name brand drain cleaner or use a Zip-It

Both my wife and I have long hair, so our shower drain needs cleaning every 3-4 months. In our case, it's caused by hair that hangs up on the bars that holds the drain plug. I use a zip-it type cleaner to clean it out as drain-o stuff doesn't work. You might try something flexible and not pointed to see if you can push the plug on through, if you have one of those Hepvo valves, though it may simply be easier to remove it, IF you can access it.
I know you've been doing this for a while, but you =have= drained the grey tank, right? (D&RLH!)

That grey tank stays open. I have no idea if I have that valve. I have a 2019 DG. I’m about to have surgery so I’ll address this after. Thank you

Hope your surgery goes well. I know you don’t want to crawl around on the floor now, but do you have an access panel near the floor? With a bit of information maybe we could suggest some fixes for later.

Wife has long hair and it clogs the drain every few months. If you look at the little metal piece in the bottom of the shower it has a small disk like this:
Use a small screw driver, I use a pocket knife, and lift it out. Under is an X that will be filled with hair, the knife again to lift it out. I read in an RV magazine not to use drain cleaners. I have no idea why as the plumbing is exactly the same used in the sticks & bricks, the only differance is the holding tank. It's a tank not a septic system that breaks down the solids, you open a valve and drain it. I see no reason to not use Draino if you wanted.

Ty for the information I’ll try removing the plate, and yes I do have an access. It’s round like what is used on a boat.

I didn’t see screws. There are three holes that look like a tool may fit to unscrew.

Gotcha. Thank you. I’m a car guy, but not real familiar with plumbing stuff.

I don't use DrainO, but I have used liquid plumber (which specifically says "safe for plastics"). It works like a charm.
