Bought a 2020 sportsman se at Cleveland rv show. Today was first time we have taken camper out . We got to the campground I hooked up to power supply Fridge turned in and started getting cold after a few min . AC was turned on (system to cool and tan to low , temp put down to 65 ) 2 hrs went by and air never got cold . Any ideas what issue is ? Thank you in advance . You need to set it to auto & cool. The fan is just that, the fan w/o cooling. And set the fan to HIGH. If it’s on low the AC unit can freeze up. Make sure the filters are clean.

Humm record heat here temps 100+ for days, A/C goes on at 85 in the house. We are going to be near 100 for the next week. We normally set our bedroom AC at 75 and the Livingroom AC set at 76. We do it this way to try to get the BR AC to run more than the LR just because it’s quieter (we reverse the settings when we go to bed). In the morning, while it’s still relatively cool, I drop the thermostat settings 2 or 3 degrees to get the place cooled off and to get ahead of the heat ... seems to be working so far.

I can adjust on the Goosebox but then I lose bed rail to camper height. We are at 7" clearance now. Any less is asking for trouble. Our current CAT weighed pin weight is 1560lbs The 3500 will give us a ton more payload (from 2030lbs up to 3780lbs) That pin weight should be fine for a SRW one ton. My pin is 3,900 lbs, so I needed a dually. Wish I could get away with a SRW truck ... car washes would be easier😎

The heat is on in Texas. 97 today ... able to keep the inside temp at 75. The AC’s ran all day long. I think this is very close to about all we can handle.

Wow ... just ... Wow.
I completely understand (and agree with) your reasons for canceling the Rally. I would have made the same decision.

Do you know your pin weight when loaded to travel? I ask, because I had to upgrade from an F350 SRW truck to a dually ... I was 900 lbs overweight on the rear axle.

One added note is that our G384 dozen't have a CD player only a radio with surround sound an outside speakers which i never have used ... I'd trade the outside speakers for a CD player which they put back in halfway thought 2018 after owners complained, but they still had the outside speakers Safe Travels CHuck Ours has a CD and DVD player ... but it is very well hidden. There is a very small black button on the lower left of the face labeled REL. I push that button and the face of the unit releases (rel?) revealing the cd/dvd player.

RV Oddcouple had a Champion 3kw go missing from the cargo rack on their FW while THEY WERE DRIVING IN TRAFFIC IN DENVER. Gen was ratchet strapped down but not cable locked, as they usually do. FWIW, Champions can be paralled with non-identically-sized gens, so long as they have the same parallel plugs. This means that you can hook a 1k to a 2k or a 2k to a 3k, etc.
Wow ... that's pretty bold ... too bad the thief didn't get run over.

I guess they decided in 2018 trailers that people did not need speakers in the bedroom... mine does not have bedroom speakers. My 2017 doesn't either, I just use a blue tooth speaker in the bedroom. I also have a 2017 ... but a very early one ... they must have deleted the bedroom speakers as a running change in 2017.

Well shoot. Much like Ronc we will still head East as planned, so at least there will two of us to hold off the Amish. We have friends and family to see back there. Plus we are going stir crazy, as our spring trip was cancelled as well. It's possible that Brad and Terri (from the rally two years ago) might also show up ... we can have a socially distanced mini rally. ;-)

We are still going as planned. I am going buggy sitting here and we need to escape the Texas heat. I hope those wild Amish looters leave us alone.😂😂😂

Try fading the sound front to rear. Fading F to R worked for turning off the outside speakers, so thanks for that! I see no a,b,c buttons. I can accomplish the same thing by putting the radio/CD player on the sound bar (living room) and playing with the fade to put it in bedroom or outside or both.

Your Durango Gold doesn’t have keyless door locks? My 2017 381 REF came with them as standard equipment.
I did buy a replacement for one on Amazon, so they are available.

No I haven’t. I’ll have to find it. I think it’s in pantry so there is a door sorta blocking it. Your pantry door is designed to NOT obstruct air flow as it is the return air flow to the furnace. Blocking the actual grate will help in AC season. Caution ... do not have this blocked when using the furnace.

Front living rooms tend to be harder to cool because of physics (hot air rises and cool air sinks). That said, directing more cool air to your living room should help, as you did. Have you also blocked the furnace return air that allows cold air to escape into the basement. That helps as much or more as the closable floor vents (for the same reason). 75 on a 103 day is pretty good.

I used OEM rims with GY G614 G rated tires with no issues (the OEM rims were rated for 110 psi). I have since upgraded the wheels to 17 1/2” high spec aluminum wheels and GY G114 H rated tires. I have a 2017 381 REF Durango Gold..

Not everyone on here is as experienced as some older truckers and farmers. My caution was for them. For example, the experienced group know that the engine should be turning over before you hit the spray ... a newbie might just spay with enthusiasm and then try to crank the engine ... blowing the top off the engine.

That Diesel Kleene-Centane Boost looks like a good product! The Bio fuel issue is all Greek to me? I'll leave that alone for now. Oh, the aux transfer tank is on my wish list, that might be a while, I'm tapped out! Bio diesel is part vegetable oil, the emblem on the side of my Ford says B20, that means it is designed to use up to 20% veggie oil.
laknax: that sounds interesting 99%. Most pumps are not marked but I did see one Loves that showed 19% on the pump. I know in the mid west I had a problem finding straight diesel. That transfer tanks been well worth what I spent to put it in to the install.
Your old JD sounds like a 1952 Cat maintainer we used at the cabin. Fire the pony motor, roll the engine & spray either over the engine into the intake...and pray. We used it to push show off the road in, 8 miles to the county road.
Ether will start a diesel, but use it sparingly. It can stretch head bolts and even blow head gaskets. It was a common reason to deny warranty if an engine came in with low compression.

Yes I am able to hold those temps as described. When we know it’s going to get hot we’ll turn the thermostats down 2-3 degrees cooler early in the day (9-10 am) so we get cooled down early and get “ahead of it”. It’s easier to hold a cool temperature than it is to try to cool down a rig that is already too hot.. been happy with operating this way and had good success with our “technique”.
We are still staying at the Alsatian. Hope to get headed towards Shipshewana in July ... with hopes to attend the rally, but if “social distancing” is still in force ( likely IMO), then we will likely just sit here until things clear up.
UPDATE: We have canceled all our travel plans. Too much uncertainty with the COVID-19 virus and the ongoing craziness with rioters and protesters. Once things settle down and there is a clear path forward on the virus ... we’ll get back on the road. That might not be until May of next year.
