We have noticed that there is a vent on the back wall on the bottom of the pantry in our 356RLT, and it appears to go into the basement. My wife has voiced concern that this is a short path for insects to go from the basement into the pantry. Anyone know why the put in this vent this way? Any issues with blocking this vent?

Looking at a picture of your floor plan it appears to be the return air for your furnace, would be my guess. Any other vents to the basement? Happy Campin....

It is the return air for your furnace. You can block it as long as you don’t use the furnace. When using the furnace, this return air path MUST be open and is what keeps your water pipes from freezing in the basement area.
