I grew up about a mile from the original Handels. We used to walk there on summer evenings. I love their ice cream. Red velvet cookie dough is my all time, hands down, no doubt about it favorite. My wife loves Spouse like a House, strange name but it's vanilla ice cream with peanut butter and maybe chocolate (I don't do peanut butter so I'm not real sure)?
Just north of Holmes county in Ohio Amish country, have you ever been to the Dalton Dariette? I have had some marvelous milkshakes there.

I've been to that donut shop in Pittsburgh, the one down in the strip district. They do have excellent donuts. I'll have to check out the one in Hartville, it's probably easier to get to for me!

Got the old RV out this past weekend. Checked the tires; hung the new cabinet door that broke at the end of last season; put a child safety lock on the same cabinet to hopefully keep from breaking it again; cleaned the inside; and got it ready to roll for next Friday.
All the systems seemed to be up and running. Looks like we had a mouse chew on a bar of soap under the sink in the bathroom. That was it. No mice signs anywhere else and there wasn't much sign under the sink. One of the cats must've gotten him before he could tell his friends. I thought I had steel wool around those pipes, but there sure wasn't any when I looked. I'll have to get some and fix that up. Didn't see any sign in the basement either. Very weird.
Anyone else getting ready?

I'd have to suggest having a dealer take a look at this one. I've never heard of a vent line siphoning an entire tank of water. The line should only be right at the top of the side of the tank. What happens when you unplug it when ready to use? Does it start drawing water out again?

Are any of us qualified to make any statements on here? spadoctor, you said yourself in this very thread: "As for your axles bearings and springs....you'll be fine." Do you have credentials as a suspension expert and did you personally inspect the trailer, or are you a general RVer like most of us?
I can give advice based on my experience with RVs that I've owned or helped others work on. I'm sure that holds true for each and every one of us here. My brother-in-law had an RV where the back wall literally separated and fell off of a fifth wheel. I saw it happen personally. Does that mean that all back walls will fall off of RVs? Does it mean that 50% of walls will fall off? Does it mean that 10% of walls will fall off? No, it was that particular RV. Do I check the seams inside and out on my RV because of it? You bet I do.
You can't fault anyone for their experiences and you shouldn't defame anyone for stating their experiences. That's what we're all here for. It's better to take a look at your own unit with a wary eye and be proactive about finding potential trouble. If your unit is in good shape then that's awesome.
There are KZ dealers for the tough questions and to have experts look at our RVs. Let's keep the forum what it is, user to user advice for the stuff we have questions on. None of us, as far as I'm aware, have ever claimed to be experts or are willing to warranty our suggestions to any other user here. It's just friendly advice.

I'm with lynnmor on this one. It was a blatant attack on his credibility and character. There's no excuse for personal attacks. You don't like the guy? Keep it to yourself. You have a contrary view on tires or equipment? Feel free to post away and let people believe which piece of information they want.

My surround sound system is down in the living room (back of the RV, driver's side) and bedroom television is at the front of the RV on the passenger side. I can't imagine trying to run wires from one point to the other.
They do make wireless surround sound systems. Not sure if they make something that would broadcast from the bedroom tv down to the surround receiver. That could result in a slight delay from broadcast to your ears.
Please let me know if you find something!

I would say if Equal-I-zer said to use 1000, that's probably the best recommendation for your setup. They didn't try to up-sell you, so that should say something.

Keep a running list of issues you find in your RV, two columns. First column is priority items that need addressed immediately, and second column are minor things that can wait. This way you can schedule time with your deal to work on the minor things at a time that works best for you (not using the RV for a couple weeks). You also won't have to try to remember everything when talking to your dealer.

Good luck with your maiden voyage! Take it slow and easy until you get used to it, don't make any sharp turns. Try to adjust your mirrors so that you can see the tires of the trailer as well as what's behind you.
For backing up, the best advice I was ever given in the beginning was to put my hand on the bottom of the steering wheel and turn the way you want the back of the trailer to go. Hopefully it will help you.
