On my Venom 3311 there are two what appear to be coax cable Jack's on the roof. They are covered by rubber snap covers. They are located side by side about 10' from the back of RV and on the right side of center line.
Does anyone know what these are for. I'm guessing for a satellite dish?
We purchased our KZ Venom from Folsom Lake RV, Folsom Ca.
Sales experience was (Good) fair & competitive pricing.
Service experiences have been (Good). In fact they went above and beyond regarding a tire problem we had. The service department is busy so appointments can be out over a month.
Thanks for the info. Went on line and checked both of my model numbers. The push button type was on the list and a replacement will be sent. The plastic handle model in the garage was not on the list.
Realize this is an old thread. We just purchased a 2016 3311tq. Really like it so far. Not much posted information on the Venom models'yet.
Still trying to figure out where all of our stuff should be stored. I was amazed at how much we had packed into our previous toy hauler.
Looking at this model ourselves! What are you towing it with? What are your top 5 favorites about this model? Anything you would do differently?
We are towing with a 2013 Chevrolet 2500HD 4wd CC Short bed Duramax. I have a B&W Companion Slider Hitch and Air bags. This set up tows the 2016 Venom 3311TQ just fine.
I don't know that we have Five Favorite things. We picked this make and model based on the hitch weight, UVW dry weight, NCC net carry capacity. This model had some of the lowest weights available in a floor plan and finishes we liked.
Had I known I would have waited for a 2017 since the factory changed the ramp door hinge arrangement. Mine is already starting to show signs of a major problem.
I would trust the EMS. Did the campground staff use a meter to check for an open ground?. If not then I would trust the EMS. If it checked OK then I would call Progressive Ind. They are very responsive and I watched a recent video where it was mentioned that under warranty, parts could be sent to you and they would walk you through installation over the phone.
Anyone care to share their experiences so far? We are picking up a 4114 on Wednesday and I wondered what to be heads up looking for. Thanks Btw, it's from Ketelsens too. (Owners demo)
Congratulations on new 4114.
It's a lot to remember during the PDI but just take your time and ask questions. Check all the systems that you can. Lay all the remotes out and check all the electronics. Check all the cabinet doors and drawers for function. Check faces for damage.
After delivery start a log of the things you find as you use the RV.
I have the 6'6" bed. Thought it was better to have the slider then not and need it. I do use the slider when backing into my narrow driveway. For me it's easier to maneuver with the hitch slid back.
I have the B & W companion turn over ball slider model. There is some slight "klunking" when comming to and taking off from a stop which is kinda annoying. B&W advised that was normal due to the slider latch. I did use a friends non slider B&W and really liked it.
I plan on installing over all three slides. It is pain to carry a ladder and a brush. Set up and climb the ladder and sweep off the tops. On our last Rv it only had a single slide and was not all that high off the ground. I would take a old bath towel tie a rope in the middle. Throw the towel over the slide, pulling on the rope would drag the towel over the slide cleaning off the debris. Doesn't work on the new Rev. To tall and the rope cuts into the rubber roof at the edges.
I think you have done your home work and are right in your calculations. I looked at the same numbers back when I bought my 2013 Chevrolet 2500 Duramax. I found that the only difference between a 2500 and a 3500 srw was an extra rear spring and hangers and the tire load rating.
So I think you are correct in that the tire load rating is most critical. The spring issue could always be resolved with the addition of bags or springs to level the bed of truck.
I also have the B&W Companion slider hitch, due to the standard bed, I also have the turnover ball under bed mount.
No issues at all. However the slider is pretty heavy and requires two people to lift out. The regular non slider is much easier to lift out. I barrowed a friends and could lift it in and out by myself.
I thought I would mention somethings that I found. Not complaining just issues like any RV brand or model could have.
With the slides in the kitchen is useless. However one side of the fridge is accessible so pack accordingly. You also can not access the garage from the living room.
We found that the drawers and cabinet doors do not always stay shut during travel. Two drawers came open on the way home from dealer and damaged fridge door. I plan on adding extra latches to make sure they stay shut or strapping handles. Don't forget the three season door. The latch does not hold and the doors slam back and forth going down the road.
Look carefully at the roof caulking joints Mine had cracks at the front cap and across the rear.
Neither main slide side windows work. The latches are frozen up, so you can't open windows.
Bedroom slide opens and closes on an angle and stops. So we have not used it.
Missing remotes for audio equipment. No monitor for backup camera. Was told by dealer that only the camera came with RV and I would need to purchase the monitor myself. Found out the monitor should have been included. (This is one of the issues I am still having problems getting resolved).
Since my dealer is 4 hours away I'm trying to get everything set up for a one day trip.
We really like our 3311TQ. Even though there are still some unresolved warranty issues. I know everyone is busy and I can still use the RV. However we will see how things go this week with KZ and the dealer.
When we ordered ours a few years ago, we got no updates until the time it arrived at the dealer. Not sure if that was due to KZ or due to the dealer though.
I had a similar experience ... so I suspect it's a KZ issue.
No reason, But fuel station started working, So now I exercise it. I place the nozzle back into tank fill and run for a few minutes'. Maybe the pump impeller swelled and was binding?
