Thanks Lynn or. I will look into it. Do you protect the exposed connections? They make a product called "liquid electrical tape". It's available at Lowe's, Home depot, Harbor Freight, ETC. It paints on and is a little messy to work with until you get used to it but it can seal anything.

Have you called the dealer about them tripping the breaker? I have a 2015 MXT20 and my breaker trips about once a month on it's own. My dealer is unable to duplicate the concern so I'm just going to have to live with the issue.

Picked up the 2016 spree escape 196s today We purchased it from Howard RV Center in Wilmington NC. I could not have asked for a better dealer to buy it from. They were great from start to finish. Had a great 2 hour intro to the entire unit and could have taken longer if I wanted to. If I was to buy another in the future I would go right back there. Towed it home with just my regular hitch and it towed like it wasn't even there, can't wait to tow it when I get my WD hitch hooked up. I will probably play with it all weekend and start making some mods on it. We bought our MXT 20 from Howard RV in May, they were great to deal with. I hope they are as helpful with our warranty issues when we bring it back down latter this month!

We camp over New Years with a camping group. I use a piece of builders tube (a cardboard tube about 18in in diameter) a spare piece of reflect-ex and a plug in utility light. I put the rig over the water spigot and plug in the lamp, everything stays nice and warm. I also put pipe insulation on the water hose.

I'm glad to hear some of you are happy with your MXT20! We are happy with the design and layout but our experience hasn't been very positive. We purchased our 2015 in May 2015 and since have found problems with the roof, KZ refuses to do anything until it completely fails. A water issue under a window that seems to be a design flaw, dealer blamed it on me! The spare tire, carrier and all, fell off! I haven't talked to anyone yet. The floor in the front of the trailer where I haul my scooter has become soft and noisy. The dealer told me this was "normal" due to the floor being wood. The front bed framework pulled apart from bad workmanship! I rebuilt it with proper support and fasteners. There are almost a dozen small issues from leaky plumbing to loose trim that I have taken care of myself. This will probably be the first and last KZ product I buy or recommend! My Murphy bed on my 2015 MXT20 fell apart the first trip. Still in the shop since 8/20 and not fixed I had to rebuild the Murphy bed on ours. The framework that makes the wall pulled apart after a few nights. I found missing spacer blocks, screws that missed the wall framing and vinyl wrapped cardboard trim used as a spacer. After a few hours work and a few trips to the hardware store the bed will support the weight of two people.

Check out other forums!! This is an industry wide problem, even with the $65k trailers. They will all have issues, buy from a dealer that will service you well and correct them. A few minor issues, no problem, something new every time we go camping, problem! KZ blew me off, and my closest (not selling) dealer blew me off! I will be dealing with the selling dealer this winter after camping season ends as they are 6 hours away. I know someone will say "why did you buy from someone so far away", let me explain. Our closest dealer is 2 hours away. They told me it would be 10+ weeks to get a MXT20 that I would be purchasing sight unseen. The next closest dealer is 4 hours away. Their web site and sales man said they had both a 2015 and 2016 in stock. After a 4 hour drive only the 2016 was in stock an their price was way to high. The next closest dealer is where I purchased the 2015 at a reasonable price. I hope they can give me some satisfaction!

they also don't recommend using both heat sources at once.....I know some will do it initially to get hot water faster then turn one off but it's not recommended. Personally I'm never really in that big of a hurry for hot water where I can't wait 10-15 minutes for the water to heat up. I've never been told not to run both heat sources at once, Actually I was told to do the opposite. Gas will heat quicker and electric will maintain the temp. During high usage (Three showers in a row) The gas will give almost continuous hot water.

Our 2015 MXT20 has "0" 12 volt outlets! It also has NO 110 outlet on the outside, just one in the storage compartment. I guess their cutting corners anyway they can!

No matter what you tow with (except diesel) or what your towing (except a small pop up) expect 8 to 11 mpg. It all depends on how fast, how hilly and which way the wind blows.

As the title says, We're new to KZ but not camping. We traded in our Starcraft hybrid last week for a KZ MXT20. We're looking forward to many happy days camping and exploring new places on my Suzuki 650 Burgman!
