Sometimes a remote will beep to tell you that the battery is low. Just sayin'

I have a 2012 2500. Like johnr said, at the time it was the best of the Durango line. I love ours. Unlike johnr though, not expecting to sell mine anytime soon.

I had my frame to bumper reinforced for 3 thousand pounds both for pulling and for loading similar items like you want.

Those with Suburban water heaters, change the anode rod! Changed mine and it was completely gone. Book says once a year and I obviously was way past time. Simple to change, you'll need a 1" socket and some Teflon tape. I think you will find that you need 1-1/16 socket. When installing the anode it can be difficult to get the threads started because all the weight is inside trying to tilt it. If you lay a layer or two of paper towel over the socket and cram the hex in, you will have a nice handle with an extension. X2

When I bought my Durango, I had them take it to a welding shop to reinforce and add a receiver. They did a great job, mine is rated at 3,000 pounds. It is super solid. I had a previous camper that I just added a receiver and just a small generator almost ripped off the bumper.

I have the Playmaker and Wally set up to feed both TVs. Of course they must both play the same Dish channel, but either one has the option to choose an over the air station as well. I have picked up satellites in almost total tree cover by moving the dish around till a small opening is found. Here in Penn's Woods (Pennsylvania) a mounted dish would not do well. A satellite locator app on a smartphone is a big help, but they aren't extremely accurate and are only good to get you close. One thing that bugs me is that the system needs reauthorized if there is a period of non-use, so I need to remember to set it up at home before a trip because cell service may not be possible where I go. Lynnmor is right about tree issues with an installed system on the roof. That's where the "dome" type dishes are very much necessary. There are some that can provide 2 feeds, but they are pretty pricey. And he's right about non use will require calling or use the "my dish" smart phone app to get it going. The other nice thing that Dish does is allow you to turn your receiver on or off at any time thus saving money when not in use. Joe

I have the Traveler, it works great. And I use a Hopper, despite what Dish says won't work.

The floor in my Durango squeaks once in awhile, but hasn't in over a year now. Go figure. As for the carpet, one of the slides left black streaks on the carpet. My dealer replaced the carpet under warranty. It took them two or three days, I don't remember exactly (this was in 2014).

This is the thermostat I use. It's virtually plug and play. All the wire colors match up.

I've been using postimage.org. They had some sort of problem and changed it to postimage.cc. It works pretty god.

Quick note, the GMCs and Chevys weigh a lot less than a Ford or Dodge. Mine weighs about 6500 and I've checked that many times over CAT scales. I also take my trash to the dump to dispose of it (I have a compacter at home) and get weighed both coming and going so I know it only weighs that much. Mine is not a dually though and only 3/4 ton. Also my hitch is always in the bed of the truck and it's well over 100 lbs so figure that in also.
My 2 cents.

I'm a little late to this party, but here's my 2 cents. My fridge is the same, it just won't keep ice cream cold. Even if it's not very hot outside.

I have the same type of camper as you do. I was told that a slider was a must. And after several close calls I can say that I doubt you can make a 90 degree turn without hitting the truck without a slider. I have the SuperGlide and wouldn't be without it. If for peace of mind if nothing else. My truck is a 2004 GMC short bed.

I had one of the KZ 5th wheels that had the siphoning issue. It took my local dealer 2 KZ recommended fixes to cure the problem. Is your's still under warranty? If so, let your dealer and KZ come up with a fix. If not, your fix is ok as long as you always remember to remove the bolts when filling the tank. Good luck either way!
