We are doing a shake down trip with our 2021 301 RLT we are noticing the main slide very hesitant in going out and coming in . It seems to start and stop . It didn’t want to come in at all when we first hit the button (LCI) . Other than that things seem working well . Though I would take a regular hot water tank over the on demand any day. Any thoughts would be appreciated . Thanks Kenc

Are you using the touch pad? When using the touch pad mine will do that from time to time. To me it seems the touch pad loses contact / touch, so I just retouch and it resumes moving.

We are using the touch pad . It sounds that the touch pad isn’t making a proper contact I am going to look into this further and will let you know of my findings . Thank you for your reply much appreciated . thank you

Down load the LCI app and see if it works any better. Like NV said mine will do that also and LCI said to clean the pad. I was a bit better but not much, wife can do it and not a problem. Maybe we aren't wired right.

Maybe we aren't wired right. I will try downloading the app and see if it is any better . It just is very nerve racking we have slide problems in the past and if they do not do what you want them to do it can be a bit of a nightmare. Thank you for the advice I will let you know what happens .

Good idea Edd, I completely forgot the App, serves as a great alternative to the touch pad.

G*d forbid they put actual switches (that can easily be replaced) in.

G*d forbid they put actual switches (that can easily be replaced) in. Lyle Gotta remember, they (KZ) has to appeal to the masses, and the masses prefer bling like touch pads and other gee-gaws that we find more are trouble than they are worth. I would for sure prefer actual switches and even a manual awning. But then I am older than who the marketing people think buy things.

At least give the customers the =option= to have switches or, here's a novel thought, have BOTH! Were I having issues with all the touch screen b.s., I'd simply wire some switches in and s-can the screen, at least for that purpose, =especially= when you're talking something as critical as being able to move your slides. Be =real= nice if the mfrs would actually =listen= to what their customers really want. Lyle

Little trouble but you can move them hydraulic or electric: Hydraulic Slides: link Electric in wall (Schwintek): link

I have the phone app and in my opinion it works better than the touch pad. I have not had any problems with the touch pad but the phone app is much more responsive. Like many others I still prefer switches.

Our touchpad was glitchy during the walk thru so I made sure I found the brain & had an plan on how to bypass it so I could get the slides in and jacks up if the touchpad completely died on the way home. Now with the app (and a new touchpad) I feel a bit more trusting, but I do carry my old phone with the app as one more back-up.

I have the 301RLT and have noticed you have to be dead on the tab or it loses contact. I also have the app that works flawlessly. In fact the wake up button fell out of the touch pad last fall while we're travelling and had to rely on the phone app to make everything work. I to miss the switches.

The touch pad does seem to be really sensitive, but for me at least, the app has worked flawlessly. Still, I would love to just have a set of rocker switches and a monitor panel. Lol! Jay

Went to a local RV show this Friday and noticed most of the fivers with slides had these.... So, maybe a trend is afoot?

Jay If you guys are lucky, some enterprising entrepreneur will design a plug-in switch panel. Wish I had the time, money and expertise to do it! Sounds like I could make some bank! :-) Lyle

Sounds like I could make some bank! :-) Lyle If you're talking direct plug into replace the touch pad, that's gonna be tough, as the panel communicates with the brain via an RJ45 connector, so I am guessing it's some sort of CANBUS. It seems to me the majority of the problems are due to the touchpad more than the brain itself (that was the case with my coach). Someone needs to source better components. Are you listening KZ? Lippert?
