Newbie here. I have our Durango Gold 356RLT in the driveway connected to 110v from the house. My Samsung residential frig is not cooling or freezing. I have the temps set at what I want, not sure what's going on. If I'm connected to shore power from my house, I don't need to have the inverter pwr button on correct? Shouldn't the frig be cooling on the 110V? I have the battery switch to on and the inverter running normally (without the power button on).
Thanks.

Did you try turning the inverter on and seeing what happens? My bet is that the fridge, being 110v only, runs exclusively off the inverter. Lyle

Lyle I would say that might be a good idea except there's power going to the frig without turning the inverter on. I can hear the compressor running. I'll try it just for giggles.

You sure that the fridge is 110v and not a 12v compressor model? It would make sense, if that were the case. I just don't see how a 110v fridge could run if the inverter is off.

Lyle Pretty sure it's a standard residential fridge, doesn't run on propane either. I have 110v shore power hooked up to the camper so I'm not sure the inverter is of any consequence. Thought inverters were for converting the camper battery 12v to 110v when not on any shore power? Perhaps I misunderstood its purpose.

Maybe there's a transfer switch that shuts down or bypasses the inverter when on shore power. I have zero experience with these, just throwing out various scenarios until someone who =does= know this stuff chimes in. :-) Lyle

So Samsung's warranty is 1 year, have you contacted KZ? KZ says 2 year bumper to bumper, they should warranty even if Samsung doesn't.

Check to make sure the refrigerator was not accidentally put into display mode.

Check to make sure the refrigerator was not accidentally put into display mode. Educate us, residential only? or does the Norcold do something I'm not aware of?

Samsung has a setting that allows for refrigerator display at a retailer or if you don't want to have the unit cool, for example in a seasonal house; Give this a try: link

Boy, talk about misleading. To me, "Cooling Off Mode", means that it's still working, but maybe just not as hard, or something. Should just be called "Demo Mode" or "Test Mode", IMO.

Lyle You have to understand it is a Japanese product. Things don't always translate the way we think they should.it makes perfect sense to the Japanese. On this refrigerator when the ice maker is on the light for the ice maker is off. When the ice maker is off, the light is on and it says ice off. Sounds stupid to us but not to the Japanese, it's how they do things.

Check to make sure the refrigerator was not accidentally put into display mode. One of the first things I checked.
