Thanks for the info. Since I'm going to replace the original tires anyway I guess it won't hurt to get bigger (I'll see if I have room). Even 1/2" is better than nothing. I'm not particularly handy, so not sure about moving the axle, unless I can find someone to do it.

I have a 160RBT. My dealer told me DO NOT get on the roof, it won't hold.

I have a Sportman 160RBT and it doesn't have much ground clearance. Do you think it would help to replace my 14inch wheels/tires with something larger? Is that even possible, or a bad idea?
Thanks, Greg

Is it OK to dump my trailer in a septic tank cleanout pipe? I want to use my trailer at a friends camp and thought this might work. But since it's not my septic tank I'd be dumping into I thought I'd see if it's a bad idea before I suggest it to my friend. Since many campgrounds are closed right now due to the Corona virus I can't use their dump stations.
Thanks, Greg

Family RV in Newark, NY!!! Not just good, they are the best!!! Larry and his Technicians will go above and beyond. When you buy from them you are treated like family. Fast, reliable and friendly. I wouldn't get a camper from anywhere else. Honesty like this is hard to find. I would agree. We had very good experience with Larry and his techs. Greg

I'm just curious, what did they do when they hacked in (how do you know they hacked your account)? I always wondered why someone would want to hack a Facebook account. I don't think there's any money to made is there?

I also read on this forum that the inside of the bumper can rust and cause the hose to get worn and leak. I looked inside my bumper and found that it is in fact rusting. When it comes to the sewer hose I decided better safe than sorry and bought a plastic storage tube. Also, the tube has a wider diameter than the bumper so I can now fit all the pieces of the hose inside.

I don't have an Escape (I have a 160rbt) but yesterday I put a hose carrier on top of the bumper. I secured it to the bumper with the worm drive type hose clamps. I think it looks pretty good. I'll try to get a picture of it tonight.

We replaced ours with a Progressive Dynamics from bestconvertor.com. Thanks for the link. How hard was it to install the converter? I'm not the handiest guy in the world but I don't think I'm a total idiot either. Greg

Interesting, I just assumed my converter would be low end. I guess I shouldn't just jump to that conclusion. This weekend I'll take a look at what I have and see what the guy that lynnmor suggested has to say.

Has anyone upgraded their converter? I'm wondering how tricky it would be to get rid of the stock converter and install a better 3 or 4 stage smart converter? I have a Sportsmen Classic 160rbt. I keep my batteries connected to a smart charger in the basement when I'm not camping. Would be nice if I didn't have to pull the battery out of the trailer every time I get home from camping.
Thanks, Greg

I use a cutting board as a cover for my stove. Attached some dowels as legs. The legs also keep it from falling off the stove when travelling. When I'm not using in on the stove I move it to the counter to the left of the sink. Works great. Greg

I found the installation instructions for my heater and I just ordered some butyl tape. So I'll give this repair a try.
Thanks, Greg

Thanks lynnmor. I'm discovering I'm still in the "I don't know what I don't know" phase when it comes to maintenance and preventing long-term issues.

I took off the flange and caulked it (with, I believe butyl tape) Was it a difficult job?

Thanks for the replies everyone. After some further investigation I think the leak is actually coming from around the water heater, not the window. I'm kicking myself that I didn't see this when I picked up the trailer from the dealer but I didn't know what I was doing. It looks like the foam gasket got screwed up during manufacturing and then the caulking job was even worse. As a temp fix I put Pro Flex RV that was recommended by a local RV dealer, and lynnmor, on the hole until I can get the installation redone correctly. After a night of rain there was no leak this morning. I took a look at a couple of YouTube videos on how to redo the installation and it looks like it isn't too difficult. Is this a common issue that the foam installation and caulking job is so bad? Has anyone else seen such a crappy job on their KZs? (Although I guess it's my own fault for not properly inspecting when I bought it...)
