I was just wondering if anyone has replaced their fresh water tank drain valve to the outside of the trailer verses underneath the dinette bench?

So far we've had a great time with the camper! On a side "happy" note I received in the mail a $150 gift card from the dealership.

Update with the dealership - they said they would winterize the tt but to be honest I'm not letting them touch my rig. All is well tanks are a clean and smelling "fresh". I won't be back to that dealership anymore. There are too many in my area to choose from. The only good thing was a good purchase price $5000. On to happy camping!!!

I feel like in our area their quality has gone downhill.

While getting the tt ready for our first voyage last weekend, I notice a horrible smell of rotten eggs in the trailer. Figured it was the water system and we did the sanitation routine. Smell...stayed...after many flushes to the gray water tank. My husband (who's never had a camper) says is it something to do with the black tank? Low and behold I check that tank and it's full! Off to the dump station we go and cleanout ensues. So much for the "dealer" prepping and dumping the tanks. I now have learned, thought I checked everything. So just a reminder to everyone who buys a unit new or used, have your checklist and check it twice never let yourself feel rushed thru your inspection.

It's in great shape and we go an awesome deal!
Hoping to make it for a few days of the rally. Hubby started a new job and it may be hard for him to get away then.

mrstoddyo I have heard of your method before the only problem is that the 5ver is stationary for 5-6 months when the problem occurs. I can't just pack everything up and take it for a spin around the block a couple of times.
Good point - in a stationary situation, that's not going to work.

In my previous units I always just mixed a couple gallons water, 1/2 cup detergent and 1/2 water softener at the end of our weekend clean out. Letting it "agitate" while we were on the road. Never had an issue and it was way cheaper than the chemicals.

State Farm in Ohio will write insurance for a stationary unit along with Allstate. Hope that helps.
