OK all you KZer's here is some info you have been waiting for. Working with the reps from KZ and LCI. The rally is a go and the dates and campground have been set.
So mark your calendar for July 30th thru August 6th, at the Shipshewana South campground. We will be sandwiched between the Redwood rally (the week before) and the Open Range rally (the week after).
As more information becomes available such events and a itinerary etc. I will post them here.
Any suggestions or comments you wish to leave would be appreciated.

Just my luck... we can only have one person on vacation at a time, and another person already has that week off. I will definitely keep an eye on the vacation book to see if he cancels it. I would really enjoy this.

Come on folks, I see well over 300 people have looked at the two posts regarding the KZ Rally ..... Lets show KZ that we care about the product we own, you know the more that show up, the more they know we care about their product, they have already stated that the will provide factory Tech's and factory tour's, along with that, there is tons of stuff to see around that area ..... When I see the Coachmen owners, Forest River, Montana owners turn out in large numbers from all over the country to support their coaches, 5th wheels and trailers at their Rally's why can't we So sign up for a site at the Shipshewana South campground July 30th thru August 6th

I have bad news for all of you... you WILL have to put up with me at the rally. I called the campground today around lunch time. I got their answering machine and left them a message as they said to do. It is almost 5:30 and I haven't heard from them yet. Has anybody else had problems getting in touch with the campground? And since I am awaiting my chance to talk to them, when is everybody else getting to the campground?

rvdude , they are not open for the season yet. Casey the person who takes care of the reservations is only in the office right now I think on Thursdays. The camp ground opens for the season I think on the 15th but you should hear back from them soon. They are pretty prompt, at least they are for me.

I went ahead and reserved for the 29th to the 6th. Now I have to plan the stops between Houston and Shipshewana. Anybody know any good places to stop? Right now, I'm thinking of first stop in Hot Springs for a couple of days, then the second stop in St. Louis, then Shipshewana.

rvdude if you must stop in St. Louis I would recommend the campground at Purina Farms, While I have not ever stayed there I have seen it and it is nice. I have been to Purina Farms for the annual English Springer Spaniel National Dog Show and have had friends camp there.
I have a niece that lives in Burlington Iowa and when the DW and I visit her we normally stay at one of two campgrounds. We have stayed at the Mark Twain Cave campground in Hannibal MO., but mostly we stay in Galesburg IL at the Galesburg East Best Holiday Trav-L-Park. It has been a few years since we were last there but as I recall it is a nice clean, semi wooded, plenty of shade, quiet park, almost all pull-thrus full hook-up 50amp. Easy in and out not too far off the interstate (I74). Don't know what route you are taking. Hope this helps.

Thanks for the ideas. I'm trying to figure out which way to go and where to stop on the way. It's only 1200 miles...

rvdude 1200 miles peace of cake, we can almost double it, 2200 for us I-90, I-84, I-80 or maybe I-90 to I-94 depending on what the DW wants to see on the way then I-80, but will drop down before Chicago so we do not have to pay only one toll in Illinois Chuck

Ya geez 1200 miles piece of cake Ha Ha chuck. but serious folks except for the DW and myself who live in the rust belt everyone else who has registered for the rally is from the west Washington, California, Texas etc. What's up with that. Come on East Coast KZer's don't let those west coasters out do you!!!

I kind of like my 1200 mile trip for now. As I am still a working man and will be traveling with 3 people (me, myself, and I), this will definitely be my longest trip to date. Once I hit retirement, I plan to do many, many long trips. But shorter trips will have to do for now.

rvdude Believe me when the DW was till working we only has three weeks most time's and couldn't go to far, are longest was Michell SD 3 years ago ... We took 5 days to get there, spent 4 days 5 nights and 6 days to come home. Now that the DW is retired we plan on taking 10 days to get to the Rally, then on to Ohio for a week an Delaware for another week and then return home with stops along the way When I was a working man, I did the same turn on about 8 to 9 days depending on the other diver an the weather of course it was a longer trip Safe travels Chuck
