I also have a e196 with the dinnete slide and the dealer never went over its manual override with us. Nor was a wrench supplied for this. There is no external access the tiny little motor underneath the skirt inside the trailer and it appears one would need six foot arms to reach it. Any ideas as to how this is operated manually?

Extremely important. I just took the hitch head ball assembly to a local mechanic and they can use their air tools to tighten everything down.

Main thing is if you have an outside shower. Always remember to turn this off at the faucet handle and not just at the wand. Otherwise you will have cold water running into the hot water tank with the result of lukewarm water.

Just leave it on. Or you can turn it off. Does not really matter. Just make sure to run the faucet before you flip the switch.

A 1/2 ton pickup or suv is best for this weight. Most of these tow vehicles are rated for about 9000 pounds gross but realistically can only pull 6000 pounds. There are a number of weight excel worksheets in other forums so that you can calculate what your current setup is. RV.net is one of them. This worksheet came from PopUp Exploere at www.popupexplorer.com - I are not the original author and all thanks should go to them.

The fastway e2 is a good setup. For your trailer (same as mine) I would recommend the round bar 8000/800.

We tried pulling a spree escape e196s with a toyata rav4. Did well with our tent trailer but not so good with the larger trailer. Got ourselves a half ton crew cab pickup and there is a world of difference.

Settled on a Barker 3500 VIP with an acme screw. I just could not justify the price difference for a ball screw. I read on some web sites that manufacture these screws that the ball screw is used mainly for positioning accuracy as opposed to just vertical support.

I know that this is a little dated, but our first and last experience with TT was having camped next to someone who spent his time cultivating his pot plants.

l am thinking of putting an electric tongue on my Spree Escape 196s. Is there a significant difference between the ACME thread design and the ball screw design electric 3500 pound lift tongue jacks?

I replaced a ventline cover only with a fantasti fan. The hardest part was removing the old sealant. Just make sure that when you install the new fan that you use plenty of new roof sealant. Just gob it on. It does not have to look pretty.

Don't go by stickers, use a scale. Check with the trailer loaded and ready to travel. As an example, my brochure says 590lbs and actual weight is 860lbs. I agree. This is just a starting point to make sure that the wd hitch is not under-rated. This size trailer would most likely use a wd hitch rated for 800 pounds.

I do not need to disconnect the round bars when backing up. It is designed for backing up without disconnecting.

I agree that there is probably no need for a lift kit. We just purchased a kz spree e196s and the tongue weight is at least 450 pounds. The actual delivered tongue weight is on a sticker pasted on the inside of the cabinet door above the stove. We use the E2 equalizer w/d hitch with "built in sway control". Nice set up. No sway and the front of the tv stays planted. Easy to hitch up. The only thing I do not like about it is that it uses cotter pins for the round bars and I carry extras just in case.

I did use self tapping #14 screws. I believe they were 1" or 3/4" in length. TV has built in dvd player.

21 inch with a swivel mount that locks into position for traveling. Just be very careful when driiling so that you do not drill into the exterior wall.

Use a magnet to locate the metal plate on the wall just underneath the antenna jacks. It is about five inches wide and extends down from the ceiling.
