Before I even begin I am not a whiner or complainer but these issues have been ongoing. We bought our Connect 29RL last year of May. I have had nothing but issues with it since day one. It has been at the dealer where I bought it from now since June 5 and still have not got it back. There is water damage where it leaked at the slide out. The ceiling on the inside had all come loose and was sagging. The shower floor was not stable and the drain pipe was rubbing against the floor which would cause issues later on. I had a leak in the front compartment when I first got it but the floor was all ready damaged. The dealer half way fixed it but I can still feel the soft spot in it. I have never had this much problem with a camper before. I am just worried with all this water leaks on the inside that it will not last for a long time. I know how campers are built and just do not want it to fall apart before it wears out. We have talked about trading it in and get a sportsman or something else. But I know i owe too much on it to trade it in. We have only been camping in it twice and its just frustrating with these issues. They are supposed to be getting it fixed but my god been since June 5th. Anyone else have these issues? Help please. Very disappointed customer.

With the extent of the damage and the delays in repair, I would be seeking legal help now. That trailer will never be right unless all affected parts are completely replaced.

Thank you lynnmor for your honest response. That was what I was thinking too. Was hoping for some more feedback but I will take your advice.

Sounds to me like you have some dealer issues also. Have you tried to contact KZ directly? Legal action should be used as a final resort, it creates a hostile environment between parties involved, is an added expense and the outcome is not guaranteed to be in your favor. My advice to you would be to leave the attitude behind, because that will get you nowhere fast, call KZ customer service explain the situation and try to work out some sort of resolution. This approach has always worked for me.

jetzen, they were the first ones I contacted and they contacted the dealer for me and set up an appointment and that was the last I heard from them. They have not offered any other type of choices for me.

jetzen, just got off the phone with them and I was very calm as I could be. They told me that the dealer still has not contacted them yet about the work that needs to be done. So, number one thats a lie from the dealership to me as they claimed that they were waiting on KZ for approval of the repairs where the leaks were. I proceeded to explain that they have had my camper since June 5. I got the answer i figured I would get. The BIG excuse that they all use. Well, the COVID has everything backed up and lots of things are on backorder and every dealer is behind in their shops. That part I can understand but still she could not do anything for me is what she said. She said they would fix it even if they had to replace a section of the floor etc. I told her thank you for her time and ended the call. Once again a waste of time.

So back to my original statement, you have a dealer issue? Did you ask for authorization to take it to a different dealer? And the waste of time was gaining the knowledge that KZ would pay for the repairs no matter what needed to be done? Seems to me that you also have an unrealistic expectation on how long a repair of that nature should take. No one wants to have their trailer tied up at the dealer for repairs and loose camping time, but you are not the only person that has their trailer at that dealer. You acknowledge that you understand that things are backed-up because of the pandemic, but it also seems like you don't want to wait your turn. I get it, we all get impatient and frustrated at things that go wrong through not fault of our own.

One member drove theirs back to the factory and dropped it off reporting back they were happy with the repairs done.

I can say that the kz repair shop is top notch as well as the management of such, when our G384RLT was there they went above an beyond what was needed both times ... As Stated it sounds like the dealer may be feeding you a line an I would ask the service manager who he talked to at Kz, get their name, the date they were called, then call Kz back an politely as if you can talk with such ... I would in this case ask both ask your dealer an Kz if your trailer could be returned to the factory for repair,
if you live somewhat close hauling it over to the factory after making an appointment may be an option
as well...
Good luck an keep us posted on your progress

Chuck, I spoke with KZ a couple of weeks ago and they said there has not been a warranty claim filed on my camper. So I called the dealer and they called me back and said that KZ was wrong as they got the paperwork in as to finish the job under warranty. The guy there said that I was lucky that they would cover it under warranty as it was water damage and it was my responsibility to make sure it was sealed. I told him but the camper has a 2 year bumper to bumper warranty and he said yes but the caulking is only good for 90 days warranty. That did not sound right but I left it alone as others in here say do not get ugly or an attitude. So I was like oh ok. So he asked me if they could take their time as they have only 2 techs working there now instead of 8. I was like well you done had it for 3 months so what is a little longer going to matter? He was like ok and hung up. It is still sitting outside and has not been touched since. I drive by the shop every day. I am no where near the HQ. I am located in GA. Several people have asked me where is your camper and I tell them still in the shop. They say they glad they listened to me and did not buy a KZ from that dealer. I tell everyone do not buy a KZ period. My wife and I are seriously just letting it go back and stop making payments on it. We are tired of it and making payments on something we cannot use. And not even sure how long it will last as it has given us issues since we pulled it off the lot. Everyone on here says do not use an attorney. So we will just ruin our credit and learn from our mistakes.

I had bought a car that developed serious problems right away, went to an attorney and he said that I don't need to kiss anybody's blank, get the car fixed and bring me the bill. I'm not giving you legal advice, that is usually not allowed on a forum, but you need to take control of the situation and not let others control you.

lynmor, I know you told me to get legal help. You were the only one and I tried to follow the advice of others and be nice about it. Technically, I am still in the same situation as I was when I created this post. I have spoken with one attorney and waiting on his reply back to me as to what is the best step for this. But I will not go into any more details about that. Thank you lynmor.

I really don't know what a lawyer can do, unlike the auto industry there is no laws regulating the RV industry ... However I believe the dealer could be held responsible for knowing that your trailer has problems related to weather an water damage an that Kz had ok repairs yet they left it out in the weather ... Also I believe the dealer could be responsible for not pushing Kz to take the trailer back for repairs ...
One has to remember that any trailer MFG dozen't pay much for warrenty repairs at the dealer, as well there is also the coast of shipping the trailer back to the factory ... I believe but am not sure it may be that the cost of shipping may be responcable to both parties an the dealers may bulk on their half an thus the trailer sits ...
I can tell you from being at the Kz factory I saw TT an 5th wheels with complete sides, tops an other things be repaired ... I know of Kz repairing one 5th wheel after the Kz Rally that was over six years old that the owner had been on the record with the dealer for repairs which was not completed to the satifation of the ower an was being done at Kz's expence ... Of course the owner had hauled the trailer to the rally an left it at the factory after such an then came back a few weeks later an picked it up ...
I believe after the trailer sitting this long I would tell your dealer you want it shipped back to Kz, I also would call Kz an ask them to put presure on the dealer to ship the trailer back to them ... This may be an option that a lawyer could help with but again as I have stated getting a lawyer involed get's a bad tast in everyones mouth an hard feels between everyone involed an in the end the lawyer is the one makeing out with money in his/her pockets ...
One possible options is to have the lawyer write a letter explaining the problems your having to the Owners of the Dealer an the COO of Kz an let the Cr#p flow down ...
Safe Travels

Well, I just got a call from my dealer that the camper is ready and that the walls would not be covered under warranty as KZ denied the warranty work. KZ is just a lying POS company that does not have a full 2 year bumper to bumper warranty. Thats all I am gonna say. NEVER BUY FROM KZ!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 4.5 months of waiting and could not get the main issue fixed. WOW......

Well, first of, don't quit making payments. A repo kills your credit for more years then a bankruptcy. Call KZ, be committed to being calm, and move up the chain of command till you get to someone who will take ownership of the problem. Also, go back to the dealer and do the same thing. Ask them both, "how have i failed as a customer". Trust me, that question will put a pause in any customer service person, if they are truly wrong. The key is calm calm calm and being persistent in dealing with problems. Have all your documentation of who you talked to when and what you were told. Between the dealer and KZ, i would hope there is person who is willing to look and listen to your problems. If that fails, legal action maybe your only recourse. We all have been "that customer" the one that just goes off the rails. In 40 years of sales, customer service, account payables and receivables, "that customer" was the one I felt less motivated to deal with. I really hope you can find a way to work thru these things. Also I wonder how his Dealer presented the problem, the dealer saying there was water damage when the the trailer arrived an not stating how the damage came about could be a reason for them not honoring the warranty... I'm thinking this dealer is not telling the complete story to Kz, i've seen owners on this form having problems equal to what is being stated an the factory took the trailer back an repaired everything ... As well dreamer69 I now believe he has legal action against the Dealer do to the fact the dealer left the RV out in the weather without any regards to the damage it was happening to such ... If it was known that there might be water damage to the trailer do to bad seals, they, the dealer, should have covered the trailer an not let it sit out in the weather for 4 or 5 months to get more damage ...
Yes like others on this form I beat the drum for Kz, but I do so because I have seen what they will do for owners as a number of us on this form has seen ... What we also seen on this form is
miss-communications from dealers to owners as well between dealers an Kz ...Has Kz made mistakes, yes, but as well I have seen them ben over backwards to correct their mistakes ....
So if the seals or if the caulking on trailer was bad then the dealer should have stated such when sending in warranty paperwork, what i believe is the dealer waited a number of months till the owner stated asking questions an then sent in paperwork stating there was water damage do to owner, it's all in the wording an thus Kz stated they would not cover such because the owner didn't protect his trailer Ugh !

Kirt, I contacted KZ directly myself and calmly explained the situation and also told them about the dealer still having my camper. I have contacted a lawyer in my hometown but nobody wanted to touch it because the owner of the dealership is loaded with money and the whole family has businesses all over town. But thats another story. The good news is KZ immediately got back in touch with me and they also contacted the dealer and approved the warranty work to be fixed. All this happened within a matter of two days. The stealership (what I call all car sales and now camper sales) called me yesterday and said that my camper should be ready to go next week. So we will see. Anyways, KZ stood their warranty and I do not even know if the stealership even turned in the information. Thank you Chuck and Kirt for your advice and help.
