We were just in a Union Pacific museum in IOWA, really nicely done, got to see a 4x8x4 in real life, I knew they were big but I don't remembering them being that big from my childhood when visiting the New York Central an Nickel Plate rail yards with my uncle who work in them Safe Travels Chuck and Hildi out and about in MO.

If you are ever near Greeley CO, check out the model train museum. cmrm.org/Huge model train set up, good for the kids, you can view it from above and then wind around the different parts of it. It's run by volunteers so check the times before you go.

At the Union Pacific museum in Kearney NB. the upstairs has model railroad trains thought out a very large room. Really nice layout with all types of model trains going around the room, some in motion and others parked on sidings ... Here in Hannibal MO. they have a small building with model railroads set up on a table and shelves of model trains engines, box cars, tank cars etc surrounding the room, nice layout but in a small building... If you get out west and want a narrow gauge & toy rail museum; Alamogordo NM Zoos next door & Space Museum is in town. It's close to White sands missile range so the space museums a don't miss.
