My wife works for the school system so all of our vacationing/camping is done during the summer months. I would really like to explore different campgrounds but a must for us is keeping cool at night. The county campgrounds that don't have electric service will allow generators but only during certain hours and never at night so that eliminates them from our consideration.
Do you know of any campgrounds in the Northeast that allow generator usage at night?
I really the need for relative quiet at campgrounds which is why I purchased a very quiet Yamaha 2400ISHC generator for camping but it doesn't get much use since the nighttime restrictions.

why not just search out cg's that have electric hook up? The campgrounds with electric in my area are limited and typically crowded. Not terrible (we still go) but the sites are very compact. I was hoping that having a generator (I when for a higher priced unit to try and preserve quiet) would increase our possibilities but since nighttime operation of a generator no matter how quiet isn't allow they aren't an option for us.

A/C is a luxury - Choose a heavy wooded campground (hope you are not in Kansas) There are You Tube videos of people mounting a silver reflective tarp 1 foot above the camper to create a heat barrier when in the Badlands and Death Valley, much attention to make sure it doesn't flap in the wind.

Might be helpful to clarify where in the Northeast are you looking, (mountains, beaches...)?
