Just traded off my truck camper and picked up a 2011 Spree I pull it with a 2000 Ford F250 with 7.3 diesel and 6 speed manual I love the floor plan. I like to boondock, so I am in the process of upgrading electrical system. already changed the bulbs to LED and am adding a second battery. has anyone mounted solar panels on roof? it doesn't seem very sturdy to be screwing into unless you found a rafter

Hi. I'd be afraid to mount anything to the roof of an RV. Leaks will do a lot of damage. But I'm sure its been done before!

Welcome. Nice looking rig. I especially like that truck. 7.3 manual. It is a beast pulls the trailer with out breathing hard. The 7.3 is a noisy engine and oil changes are steep cause it uses 15 quarts of oil Cheers Ron Wolfgram Stillwater MN

Ron there is a ton of info on solar install on many RV sites. You could do a google search and bring up some good info. Most who boondock do install solar.
