Our 23rls has VERY little counter room. I saw a metal cover on Amazon that folds in half & would add much needed counter space. Has anyone else bought this? How did it work out?

I have one. They work well, but remember that they are just sheet metal and will not take any kind of load or abuse. They also add a bit of protection for the rear wall.

We did not get a cover on our stove. We bought the large cutting board that fits the top of the stove perfectly. (camping world) I saw someone buying a piece of wood as thick as our cutting board at Menards. I Wondered if they were going to use it as a topper.
I have to wait until stove grid cools off. I can keep things on top and also lift it off and put on my counter for the intended purpose. Hope this helps. One thing about wood, it doesn't bend like metal.

I built a wood raised tray over my burners and we keep our coffee pot on it. Used marine grade varnish and it has held up great. Ed

I bought the cover you referred to 12 years ago. And since, have transferred it to every other new fiver we purchased since. I just gave it up because our Durango has one over the range. It worked out very well for us. And it creates another counter top. You simply lay it on the range and then line up the hinged flange to the counter behind the range and screw it in with 4 or 5 wood screws. Or you can just lay it on without securing it. The raised portions on the range will hold it in place. I would recommend securing it.
