On my first trip last month with my new 196s the refer worked fine on shore power however switching to propane yielded a blinking 'F' on the refer display. I called the dealer and they suggested some troubleshooting without success. I ended up taking it back to dealer and they said that they cleaned a bunch of stink bugs and adjusted the igniter. All to the tune of $75.00 'because the warranty doesn't cover insects'. However this was the first trip using in a month since purchasing. Added fiberglass screen to inside of outside fridge vents with packing tape.

I drove 3.5 hours to wind up parking on site and finding the same blinking "f" light. Then i relized i forgot to turn on the propane bottle before leaving. My first sput !

Yea vagov, that was the first thing they asked. And they had me light the stove burners to be sure. Then they asked me take the vent off the outside and look in the little window to check for a flame....no luck, in fact no sounds either. I think the igniter was too close to spark. Seems to work now after dealer checked it. We're camping at Codorus state park in Hanover Pa this weekend, so we'll find out!

Good luck. Are you from the east coast of pa? Come check kut the east coast dog (dutch oven gathering) in october in lancaster area. probally not to far from you. Ill be there with my spree escape. Info can be found on line look up east coast dog

Same thing happened to my TH on the second outing. Turned out to be a bad controller circuit board. It would light but when the igniter would shut off, the propane valve would also shut off.

South central pa vagov and thanks. I have 2 trips planned for Oct but will check out web site
Roadking ...tech support suggested the pro b could be a board or igniter. My refer worked great over weekend just wish wx was better, pretty soaked sat night.
