Hi All,
Quesion: What will happen to my30 AMP AC if I use it while plugged into house electricity with an adapter? Dealer is saying DO NOT use it unless plugged into a generator and we are going to MO where it is hot and humid. Going to be difficult without AC.
Thanks so much!

First get a volt meter to plug in to an outlet and always check it. If voltage drops below 105, turn off the AC. Use the volt meter at all campgrounds as well because many have poor wiring.
You can plug into any house outlet with an adapter but you likely will trip a breaker in the house. If the voltage stays above 105 and the breaker doesn't trip, you are good to go, but that probably won't happen.

Hi Gina. lynnmor is correct and so is your dealer. The down-to-earth reason is that running your AC without proper voltage can cause damage to the AC unit. It can also overload the circuit that you're connected to and if not wired properly can cause damage to the home.
Better to be safe rather than sorry.
I went to a concert the other night and one of the tour buses had 5 air conditioners on top of it. We walked right next to it, and the only thing they had plugged in was a 30 amp cord. I thought that was pretty interesting.

I've never heard of these restrictions, so had no idea. I've had 3 different campers and all three had no problem running the AC off of the 20 amp plugins. I've run my Durango for up to 12 hours with no issue.
Just my opinion.
