We were having tire problems and decided to go to a better tire. We spent $1500 on five new tires. In less than 500 miles the tread is wearing unevenly. Tire pressure is checked before every trip. We took the unit to a trailer company to check the axle. They found that the axle was mounted incorrectly. The only fix.....take the unit off and put on new axle! Has anyone else had any problems?

I haven't had the problem, but I'd be knocking on some doors demanding compensation. Did you buy the RV new from a dealer?

Had real alignment problem on my 11 Escalade. As per dealer and KZ and Alko anything under the trailer (springs, axles etc) carries no warranty.

Yes, we bought new from dealer. Trying to work with KZ now. Found out that the frame mounted on axle is out sourced then brought back for unit to be built on. How did someone not see error, hmmmm. We are trying to work with them first-yes, new unit, before we get an attorney. This could get very ugly. We also had a propane generator installed.

Cost of legal action was more than replacing axles when you consider time out of trailer (we fulltime) hassle of removing axles and getting them inspected etc.

That doesn't make much sense to me. Multiple sets of tires and replacement of axles isn't cheap. In Ohio, small claims court can cover monetary costs of up to $3,000. If your bill is more than that, then it becomes a lawsuit. I don't see legal fees for such a simple case being super high. Get some pictures and an affidavit from the place performing the repairs. Have records of your communication with KZ and all other parties. Have records of all the money you've paid out. A normal person would not know and couldn't be expected to know whether an axle is installed properly. The normal person purchases an RV in good faith that the manufacturer assembled it correctly. A reasonable judge would say that KZ is responsible for ensuring the RV is put together properly and if it isn't they'd be responsible for any resulting damage. Just my 2 cents

Our axles seem align ok but our factory tires chewed off pretty quick. But even. Then last year put 12 ply this time. Seems better but now blew one out with zero warning. Wasn't hot or low on air. Just blew out the sidewall. I think this trailer should have a heavier axel and 14 ply tires. I feel like we wouldn't have tire wheel and axle problems if it did. Jmho.

We did go with Goodyear 14 ply and feel the same way about the heavier axle. Found out also that the heavier axle is made to be able to make adjustments. Right now still trying to work with KZ but we snuck off for a few days of camping-only 25 miles away! They are supposed to be contacting and discussing this with the vendor to try to get them down here to fix it, not holding my breath.

I'd be very curious to know exactly what they mean by mounted incorrectly. As long as the axel is facing forward I really don't know how it could be mounted incorrectly.
