Recently purchased a 2007 New Vision toy hauler. This is not our first TT but is our first 5th wheel. We were very impressed with many things about this trailer and are looking forward to enjoying some vacation time with it. We also are having a few problems with it in our first couple weeks of ownership as well. I have a few questions and was hoping someone here might have some answers.
1: there is what appears to be a furnace thermostat in the garage. The Coleman Mach AC thermostat is located in the bedroom entry. Does the controller in the garage operate the furnace or the coleman controller up front? Why would they put the furnace control in the garage area? We cannot test the furnace yet here in FL as it is to warm to activate.
2: the bathroom vanity (in the bedroom) has 3 light switches. One switch in the middle does nothing I can find. Anybody have any clues? Also there is no GFI outlet. There is an outlet by the sink that looks different from all the others-just like a home outlet instead of the "RV" style-was this the GFI outlet and possibly changed out by prior owner?
3: we had (I say we- we just purchased the coach a couple weeks ago from a large dealer), a leak in the living room slide out. The windows on the side of the slide out both allow water to pass under the glass (slide up and down style) if any appreciable flow hits the window, such as a typical Florida afternoon shower. Anyone else have this issue and come up with a fix? I am thinking of clear pro flex at the bottom section and just eliminating the ability to open that window.
Exterior wise the unit is in pretty good shape, the decals are toasted though so we are planning on removing them. I called KZ and they were supposed to send me a brochure on repairing them (they said they are no longer available) but nothing has showed up yet. I have started hand rubbing out the fiberglass and orbital buffing the sides. The entertainment center was a little rough and the tv and dvd player were both broken. Here is a pic of the unit at the dealer:
This is the results of the slide out leak:
The wood floor is soft for about 6 inches against the side wall. I just took it back to the dealer and they are going to look at this and decide how much it will cost me to fix it. Kinda sucks to find this so soon after picking it up as we will be a bit delayed in getting out and about with the new toy in the family. It really sucks I cannot get any parts from the factory as I am sure the markup is considerable. Thanks for any input we really appreciate it!
