Is it backlit as well? Nothing worse than coming back to the camper in the dark and fumbling around trying to find the lock. A backlit lock would be awesome!

Don't think it is backlit, but it has a remote

Installed in less than an hour, works great. Nice not having to keep the keys with you at all times.
Highly recommended !!!

Yes, 4 AA batteries and it warns you when they are getting low.

Looks great but that's a lot to pay for not having to use key. Coming home in the dark? We leave the out side light on.

Granted it has been a while but are these lock more secure than the standard ones that come with an RV? I know that the "universal" keys the most RVs use will not work but it is actually harder to force the door with one of these?

They generally discount them 10%-20% throughout the year. You just have to watch for it. I bought mine on black Friday when they were offering 40% off. I also changed the storage compartment locks so they would match the key for the door lock.
I haven't installed them yet as I had winterized and covered it by that time so I can't comment on how well I like it (but it does seem to be really well built).
As a side note, there are two locks on the door unit and only one can be controlled by the remote or keypad. The other requires the key (it functions as a deadbolt if I recall correctly).
