Hi All,
I am new to the RV thing. I feel so excited because I am supposed to pick up the travel trailer this weekend. I also feel very scared to drive it and just having it. I know nothing about it. I saw they can burn up in a fire quickly, they are of course so much fun to decorate and driving will not be easy. I hope and pray I don't mess up with anything. Can't wait!!

Oh yes, I forgot to say we named our trailer The Big Green Ninja Turtle.

Good luck!!!! Ask away if you have any questions. Someone on here has most likely had the same issue.

Welcome Gina! Pulling a trailer is a bit frightening, wishing you the best!

I never really worry about a fire...just am careful and have 2 fire extinguishers at each end of the trailer....just in case.
I will drive on occasion..husband is the best one but I need to know how to get it home should something come up. It is scarey at first but not as bad as I expected. We took ours to a huge company parking lot when the business was closed to practice driving, gauging turns, and backing up...the hardest for me to learn. It seems more comfortable to practice in a area where I couldn't do any damage if I messed up. I will drive on the divided highways now if necessary, the worst is construction zones but I have made if though them too. As I said though, I could get it home on any roads if I had to.

Hi, Thank you all. Some great ideas. I am so excited too but still a little scared. I'm thankful the dealer is kind enough to let someone go out with me to drive it. I'm wondering, should I leave my little one in the seat behind me or put them in the front seat of the truck. I mean, if there is any problems, could the RV come sliding into the back of the truck:? If my little one is in the front seat, I know it's not safe but with the RV is it safer for them to be up front with me?
Thanks guys!

I forot to mention that while I am excited, I sort of already have a bad taste about this RVing thing. Pikes Peak of Colorado Springs helped me tons but also I feel they gave fasle information. I informed them of the same RV that was a year older and lots cheaper in MO. They reminded me that it would be easier to purchase where I live so it could be worked on when needed. They said they would throw SEVERAL things into the deal. I was very thankful. So, when I signed the paperwork, they threw several things into the deal allright, right into my loan hahaha. They got me. Great salesmanship. Throwing it in usually means, I thought giving but in this case it meant giving with a price, over $1000.00 worth hehe. Slick! I will be moving for sure with my job in the future and they was kind enough to inform me that their extended (Not warranty) but some policy would transfer anywhere if I purchased it and I could get their RV worked on anywhere....well...what was the difference in me going to MO to purchase the cheaper one and having it worked on here verses me taking the one I purchased from them and moving with it? Funny, sales tatics again. I'm a little bothered but they were and have been wonderful otherwise thankfully. Hope I don't have problems when I take it in. Guess I will need to ask for clarification every time something is said in our conversations...hehehe.

Hi, just a thought on your little one. I'd suggest following the laws of your state in regards to where children need to sit and be restrained in vehicles. As long as your camper is hooked up properly, it should always go where your truck goes.

Thank you! Yes, I was also told that by someone at the dealer as well. I appreciate your response. Have a great day.
