Hi All! I just ordered an Escape 196S and I'm looking for some measurements. Since it's not in stock, dealer can't really help me at the moment. I'd really appreciate if an owner could give me the following measurements: Ball size Ball height when towing. I need this to see if the WDH I'm about to buy as enough rise, as my receiver hangs quite low. Tongue jack diameter. I'd like to order one of these: Flip Jack and need to know which one. Thank you very much, Simon B.

Ball size is 2 inch, as far as height, that depends ion your hitch set up, off hand i am guessing somewhere around 17 inches , but will level mine and measure wdh depends on your tounge weight , i use s fastway e2 Wdh with 800tw/8000 round bars. By the way where are you from?

Thanks vagov!
As for the ball height, since we`re supposed to tow with the trailer ~level shouldn't the ball height be the same no matter what? Of course the trailer suspension could sag depending on the load but that should not be significant for my need right now.
And I'm from Quebec City, Quebec, Canada.

I also have the e196s. The hitch uses a 2" ball. The height to the top of the trailer coupler with the trailer level is right around 18 inches. I don't know what wdh you plan on buying but I also have the e2 fast way with round bars. There are a lot of quality wdh's out there so look around. I use the 600 pound bars and with an electric tongue jack they go on and off pretty easily. The post size is 2 1/4" diameter. Mine has a 6" extension on the bottom which comes in handy. Good luck and have fun with your trailer.

The hitch and ball height is the same no matter what. Some people like the ball height to be about an half an inch higher than the hitch height but I am no expert in this.

Once hooked up, the trailer should be level to the ground, with the rear suspension of the tow vehicle sagging about and inch or two. This will give you the proper tongue weight.
If you are too low, your ride will be bouncy. If it is too high, you will feel a lot of swaying on hard braking. You need to find the sweet spot for smooth trailering.

Thank you all!
That answers my question and even more.
I don't want to abuse but could anyone give me the opening size of the pass-thru storage?
Thanks,
Simon B.
