***** ROOF DAMAGE *****
Has any of you/us Montego Bay owners experienced soft roofs ? I have been getting the itch to upgrade and was just told by a dealer that my trade value will probably drop by $6,00000 to $8,000.00 due to the fact that there were issues with a membrane used..?? I wash my roof 2-3 times a year and am up there inspecting it on a regular basis and all seems fine to me ?? If you had it , did you know it or feel it ?

That was one of the reasons I got rid of our Montego Bay. The 4 corners of our roof was getting soft. The dealer said KZ had used a new roofing with a felt like backer that was wicking water in and rotting the plywood. It affected both the Montego Bay and the Escalade. I think that I had sent you PM to check your roof when the dealer informed me of the problem--that was when we traded to the 2013 Stoneridge. If you make a fist and knock on the roof you can hear the difference where the wood is starting to get soft.

back in 2006, 7 and 8 there was an issue with the TPO as supplied and installed by KZ....not just escalades aan MB, The felt was applied too wide by the manufacturer. When KZ did the install if it was slightly off square it would go over the roof edge under the gutter. As explained to me by the factory marketing was having the BOTTOM of the gutter trim caulked to look nicer....but this trapped water allowing it to be wicked up into the roof causing rot and delam of walls. I know this from personal experience on an 07 Durango. The factory repaired my delam and installed a totally new roof free of charge to me. They said 60% of the repair was paid for by Alpha.

BTW...other manufacturers such as Jayco had the same issue.

I was just up there again and was walking around real slow... could not feel ANY soft spots.. anywhere... Nor is there any delamination on the side walls... maybe mine is ok...
