Looking at a possible deal on the factory ordered Stoneridge... 3 guys close-- 2 are at 1hr 15 mins..and 1 at 3-1/2 hrs...myhebguy farthest away by far is giving me the best deal... Hands down... And while at the factory , they raved about his dealership... I am not looking forward in taking that trip for each service.... I am hoping it s like my Montego Bay and very little problems... Has anyone struck a realationship with a closer dealership and get service there?? I am concerned that if I take it there , it will get put on the back burner ..... And never looked at

Our dealer is 2-1/2 hours away. It does kinda suck to bring it in. To bring it there and pick it up costs about $175.00 in fuel and most of a days worth of time total. I just brought it and picked it up yesterday. It did have a few minor things but I fixed them myself rather than bring it back. This was the first trip back to the dealer in two years.
This dealer is ranked super high and I will say their service is ok. I just feel like no matter where I have bought a unit in the past, I'm only a priority till the check clears. I agree that if you buy it elsewhere than your local dealer, they will back burner you for sure in busy times.

My dealer, and the closest at an hour away, straight up told me that their service department prioritizes people who bought from them. I could buy a unit several states away cheaper, but I won't get quick service from them. I have to admit that when I've needed to get in there, they've been very good at working me in the same or next day.

I own a business that involves a service department along with sales, and we, along with most other dealers i know of, have a limited amount of technicians at any given time. We tell our customers when they buy from us that they get 1st priority when it comes to service. We tell people who "went down the road to save a few bucks" that we will work on their units when we can work them in after working on units that we sold. that having been said; when we work on those units that we didn't sell, we give them the same quality in repairs that we give everyone else. So, how much money will you save going 2 hours further? To me it would definitely have to be in the 4 figures. Just by humble, but realistic, opinion.

Probably worth the trip then. I've had my 38fl for three years and it's been back to the dealer twice for minor repairs under warranty. Both times I could have done the repairs myself for less than 50 dollars each. For 4 figures saving I'd certainly consider the trip. Just check the unit out thoroughly before you leave and make sure EVERYTHING works!
