We are in Western NY and have really enjoyed the Finger Lakes. We usually pick a State Park, any favorites you could suggest?

congrads on your new KZ escape! i would be interested in exploring this area someday, every so often i make it up to Bath NY, never camped there thou.

Heading for Keuka State Park in a couple of weeks. We will just enjoy some campground time and Keuka Wine Trail. I can't say it is my favorite Finger Lakes State Park but it is nice. We usually go to the Finger Lakes with friends who have a big 5th wheel....too big for Watkins Glen, so they pick Keuka SP. They had to cancel on us but we are still going and keeping our reservations. I will check out Park Station. We like the public campgrounds.

Question about the NYS Parks around the Finger Lakes. I heard a rumor that they were starting to install power to some of the sites at some or all of the parks around the lakes. Any truth to this, please?
We live on Long Island and are always out in Montauk at Hither Hills State Park. Steps from the Atlantic Ocean. I believe they should leave well enough alone, if they ever decided to add power to the sites there. It is already a challenge to book a site there in the Summer, as it is. Adding power would make it even more difficult to book a site.
We are planning a trip to the Finger Lakes this Summer. If we can fit it in. We have never been there. Are there any communities that are comparable to say a community like Lake George? Thank you.

shogunles, I am partial to Chautauqua and 1000 islands area however the only campgrounds I am familiar with are the KOA's in those areas..... and they are very nice and accommodating. Having a rather large 5th wheel limits the places the DW and I can park it.
