I just purchased a used Durango with a slide. my first time to try and open it and it went about 2" and stopped. I can hear the motor running and it appears to not be engaging into the gear. any suggestions?

My first guess would be that the drive gear on the slide-out motor is stripped. You can find parts here www.rbwstore.com/K-Z_c_29.html. If you plan to do the work yourself and need technical help call KZ customer service and they can put you in touch with the service dept. |

I don't believe it is stripped. the gear looks to be tapered and plunges in when started - similar to a vehicle starter motor. I can see the gear on the motor turning but it is away from the larger connection gear.
