Hi all,
Was out on a trip for 10 days and used the 50 amp cord that came with my 2013 325RL. When I was tearing down, I went to disconnect the electric, and found that the threaded sealing ring had come apart from the plug. The plug was on its way to working itself out of the camper. The ring will now just slip on and off of the plug.
Any ideas on repairing this so that I can avoid the cost of purchasing a new one?
Thanks!
John

Hi, thanks for the reply! Maybe I'm not thinking of this correctly, but isn't the boot made up of a single piece of plastic or rubber? If the old ring just pops on and off, wouldn't a new ring do the same thing?
It did make me look at camping world, and I see they have a new boot on sale for 20 bucks.
Is it possible this would be covered under warranty? I still have about 4 months left on that.

The problem with a new boot is that you cannot put the boot on without removing the plug and mine had the plug molded on the wire so I would have had to cut the plug off and buy a new one to replace the one I cut off and that would have been a big waste of money. Your boot should have a raised lip that the ring go behind. Maybe a piece of your old locking ring is cracked or broken off? The new ring was tight and a little tough to place on the boot but it was a perfect fit when I got it on over the lip on the boot. After dealing with that I wound up trading my Montego Bay in on a new Stoneridge and I now have an electric reel so no more plug problems and finding a place to store the cord. The electric reel for the power cord was a very good option. It's amazing how something as simple as a locking ring can be such a big hassle!
