Hello All.
I really hate to make my first post here sound negative. We purchased a new, never titled 2011 Sportsmen Classic BH19 from a dealer two weeks ago.
Took it out this past weekend and it rained pretty hard. Water started coming out from under the front dinette bench. Lifted the cushion and the board to look under it and there was a lot of water there on the floor and some on the wall. Almost looked like the wall filled and water came out the hole that the 110V wiring comes out of to power the outlet on the front dinette bench. Looking at the back of the wood on the bench it's definitely absorbed water in the past.
Started really going through it tonight and see that both bunk mattresses have been wet and the bottom one is actually moldy looking, looks like the bunk window has leaked a fair amount in the past. Both are torn on the bottom where the sides meet the bottom of the fabric.
Looked at the front mattress and it's torn down one side and appears to have been wet too.
Spoke with KZ this morning and they said return it it to the dealer which I understand. I asked them and the dealer both about the possibility of mold or dry rot in the walls in the future. KZ said that pulling the skin to check could open up new problems. The dealer said that as far as they knew it hadn't been leaking and that if it hasn't been leaking for a long time it should be okay. Anyone know if that's accurate?
It goes back to the dealer tomorrow but I'm a little concerned about a few years down the road and real disappointed that this is what $10,000 buys.
We do really like the layout of the camper and it tows great. Hopefully this turns out well...

I too would want the RV replaced. You might have problems down the road and have an issue getting it taken care of. If they say there is nothing wrong with it there should be no problem exchanging it for one that doesn't leak. If they are so sure there is no problem with it they can sell it to someone else. You paid for a new RV and that is what you should get--a new one without water damage.

Thanks for the input. I was thinking along the same lines that there could be problems later once it's out of warranty. Getting the dealer to just replace it without legal assistance might be easier said than done from what I understand so far. When we purchased it one of the documents released the dealer from responsibility and puts it all back on KZ.
We took it back to the dealer today with a list of things we found and they're going to take pictures and send them to KZ. They said they haven't seen one this bad before and that KZ is good about standing behind their products. Also said if it's to be fixed it may have to go back to the factory due to the repairs that may be required. I told them them I'd be happy to tow a new home instead and the service manager said he'd discuss it with the general manager. They'd only done that once that he was aware of. I have to say the dealer is really being helpful with it so far.
I've also spoken directly with a KZ customer service rep and have his direct number so can keep in touch that way as well. I updated them with the additional findings so at least have a direct connection there too.
I'll post results when we hear back.

Glad to hear you say they stand behind their products. The dealer said the same. Still waiting on their decision as to what they want to do.

Well, sorry to say the trailer has been back at the dealer's lot for almost four weeks now. Windows need replaced and they're on backorder with no estimated date of delivery. New mattresses haven't came in yet either.
Sent KZ certified mail almost two weeks ago asking for a replacement trailer or refund. No response yet. Their customer service rep said that corporate picked up my file so they have no way to tell me what's going on. Everyone keeps telling me that KZ will make it right. I'm starting to have my doubts, feeling like they really don't care.
Would be nice to have some type of status update.

Tried to post pictures but don't see the normal attachment options.
Anyone know if they're allowed or if links to an external photo hosting site are allowed?

Testing the attachment process..... OK, I attached my camper's pic. When you go to add a reply, there is an attachment line, use that. Note that the picture can't be very big, however. Attachments:

It's grayed out for me. Maybe not enough posts yet?
Thanks though.

It looks like they're making good on it. For an upcharge I'm picking up a new 2013 Sportsmen Classic Friday! The upcharge is nowhere near what the price difference would be buying the 2013 new outright.

That is great! Another "KZ comes through" story. Main reason I bought a new KZ Durango.
Have a great time with your new "toy".

Glad to hear from another happy KZ owner! KZ runs a honest buisness the way it should be run. I was sure that they would do something but sounds as if they went above and beyond with their service! As long as you treat them with respect they will be there for you.

Well KZ came through just fine. Took a while but was worth the wait. We got nice 2013 model with a stereo and four stabilizer jacks.
We were supposed to get the model with the full time bed but ended up accepting this one and actually like it a lot better.
They made some nice changes from 2011 to 2013. Radiused door, the windows look like they seal differently against the camper, moved the light switches for the master inside and outside lights, much deeper sink and the microwave is now built in. It's like a completely different model camper and the quality seems much better (doors stay shut, etc.).
We're happy campers now!
