We had our e196s out for the first time last weekend, and had to fill the fresh water tank after two days. We did it with a 5 gallon water jug but it took 2 of us to do it, I held the jug while my wife kept the hose on the spigot. Has anyone come across an easier way to do it, or is there a water jug that you can attach to a garden hose?

I carry 200' of water hose with me, usually there's a spigot within that distance. Also have a adapter that is a rubber boot with hose threads on other end so it will work on fauset type spigots with no threads

Thanks for the tip about the rubber boot, it could come in handy if we're close enough to a water faucet. I don't think we were close enough to one last week though as we would have had to use the faucet in the laundry tub at the comfort station. I'll pick up one of the boots at the hardware store before we go next Monday.

I bought an 8 gallon Hydroller that I modified with a dip tube. Then I modified the city water intake plumbing so that the on board pump draws the water in thru a short hose and sends it to the water tank. Now I just wheel the Hydroller back and forth to the hydrant, no lifting. I can also pull water from any kind of container. There is no need to buy pumps, switches, wiring and battery clamps.

Thanks lynmor, why buy the parts and carry them when the pump is already on board? I'll look into doing that for sure.

These are called 'Water Thief' and I believe they're available in Amazon. We got one early on and it's saved us more than once. I have a sportsman sportster 355 is there a valve that I need to open to get water in the holding tank? If it has pressure fill only, meaning no place to pour water in, then you open a valve that is usually chrome in color and close the other valves. While connected to city water the tank should fill and overflow out the vents when full. If you have problems, report back any information about vents, valves and alternate fill methods.
