When we use the water pump to pump water.... after the hot water heater had been on for about 8 hours I flipped it over to run the pump and turned on the hot water at the bathroom and kitchen faucets and the water pump pulsates it rattle and shakes the pipes making the worst racket you ever heard. I am wondering if this could of have caused all the water leaks we had last year. Remember it is just the hot water only and after the hot water tank has been on for over several hours. It does not do it when we turn the cold water on or the water is cold in the hot water tank. Why? What can be done? We have put 2 new water pumps on and it still happens

If you have the winterizing bypass system on the water heater, there is a hand valve and a check valve. Maybe the check valve is causing the problem. Try closing the hand valve to see what happens. Also try draining the heater and refilling to establish an air pocket in the heater. I added 3/8" plywood behind the pump for better mounting. I also added the flexible hoses and an accumulator tank to the pump.
