I was staying in my trailer for a week while plugged into the RV outlet on my garage and found that the batteries were getting low. This time of year, the sun is lower in the sky and there is a shadow over them from the garage. I thought I would just run the generator to charge them, but discovered that this trailer does not have a converter / charger. It appears that the only charge circuit is from the MPPT 30 Amp solar charger. The Xantrex Freedom X 2000 inverter manual states that it is not a battery charger either. I traced the wiring to the batteries and do not see any other connections besides the battery output cables and the MPPT charger wires. Are others seeing this and have you resorted to installing a separate charger when the solar is not working well?

In your basement storage area behind a false wall you will have a deck mounted converter. It is most likely a WFCO brand. When plugged into shore power the converter will charge the battery. You will have a converter breaker on your distribution panel that powers a plug that the converter is plugged into. Make sure the breaker is not tripped and the converter is plugged in. My converter was not plugged in when i picked up my Venom toy hauler. If you have the auto detect converter you will find lots of people not super happy with their performance. Hope this helps. I did wind up going with an inverter/charger and took out the converter. It works great.
