My 2021 Durango Gold found myself on the side of the freeway over Labor Day yesterday.
1. KZ does not provide you the key to lower down the spare (BAD) 2. KZ does not provide the tire iron to undo the bolts (VERY BAD)
The tires are crap Chinese tires and as you can tell, the tread separated completely and tore the crap out of the under carriage. I'm trying to work with KZ on this because this was a major safety issue here not to mention the failure to prepare us for a possible flat tire other than to stare at the spare I couldn't drop or remove the bad tire.
Anyhow, I'm trying to find a reputable American Tire ST235 80/R16 load range G tire. I didn't want to do Les Schwab because they are all chinese and I can't put my wife and I in harms way again. We were incredibly lucky. So I need your help. What tire is available that won't try to kill us.

My trailer is the 283 RLT Half-Ton model. I know I could have changed to a Load range E, but my tire guy suggested the Hercules H-901 ST 235/80R16. I trust his judgement. He had placed the same tire on his Dad’s trailer and was extremely pleased with performance. Mine have been on for almost 4 years and have served me perfectly. Because it is such a heavy duty tire, I expect to be able to stretch the time of use a little and then sell them to someone needing equipment trailer tires, generally used at lower speeds.

My KZ came with the lowering tool if yours didn't I think a 3/4 socket and ratchet will also work. Tires I recommend Sailun S637 been running about 3 years. Search the threads you'll see plenty of tire recommendations.
