Hi folks,
I also posted this in the Escape forum, but it's kinda like a ghost town in there, so cross-posting here...
I have a 2020 KZ Escape and the awning stopped opening. When hooked up to power I can hear a fan spin up in the electrical panel when I try to open it, but that's it, no motor activity. On battery there is no fan spin up. I checked the fuse, looks good, and I replaced it with a known good one.
Bad timing as we're in the middle of a heat wave and my elderly father-in-law just started staying in the trailer until we can find him a board and care place.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I think you should be able to extend the awning manually. Check the front strut, at the top. I understand there should be a plug there, which when removed gives you access to a 7/16" or so nut. Turning that will extend/retract the awning.

Remember one thing. You will have to retract the awning if any storms or high winds are called for. The wiring should run down the front arm and back up to the motor. It's possible one of the wires is broken. Look where the wires come out of the wall at the top.

What he said. Our last 5th wheel awning did exactly that, pinched and cut the wire.
