Hello All,
Looks at a 2014 Sportsmen 16RBT Classic. Price seems right, looking for opinions on the hybrid models. One of my concerns is the Canvas on the hybrids. Currently my wife and I have a pop up and this would be a great step up from what we currently have. Plus with a 4 year old and an 1 one year old it would make camp setup a tad easier.
Thanks.

Mike,
We bought the 2013 KZ Spree Escape E18RBT. I found the Escape line up, a notch above the Sportsman in quality. We took delivery in April and put on 60 nights by November 1. I preferred the layout, smooth exterior wall over the panel siding. The features and accessories seems to offer more yet both are from KZ.
Check out the Spree Escape line up before you buy. The model I bought would give young children more privacy when put to bed while the parents watch TV or entertain at the dinette / couch at the other end of the trailer.
Good Luck.

We just upgraded from a pop-up to a 2013 18RBT. We like the looks of the all fiberglass Spree better.....but for the price we got the Sportsmen we couldnt pass it up! Havent had a chance to take it out yet, but so far we are very happy with the quality! and will be a huge upgrade from the 89 Coleman we had :-) We looked at many different models of hybrid camper, K-Z seemed on par or better then most we looked at but at a nice low weight! Wanted something that didnt put too much stress and strain on our GMC Safari and surely didnt want to buy a vehicle just to tow more! :-) Good luck with your search! I think you would be happy with the K-Z.

Hello,
My wife and I picked up a 2011 16RBT last September. We traded up from a modified tear drop that was too short to stand up in. We bought the hybrid for two reasons, one the light tow weight and two, the flexibility. When we take the grand kids to an RV park or campground we set out the tents on both ends and have plenty of room. When we travel across the country just the two of us we never bother setting out the tents. We have been from Florida to the Canadian border and out to the Pacific. We considered a popup but you cannot 'discrete' camp in a pop up. While traveling to a destination that may be six days away we will stay at Walmart, Flying J, some state rest stops, Gander Mountain and lots of other similar locations.
The one drawback to the Sportsman is the low ground clearance. Look carefully before entering any parking lot or you might bottom out.
Enjoy your camper!
