We frequently travel between NM and CA and when pulling our rig prefer to overnight in AZ. We’re retired and have no interest anymore in long days.
On I-8 between Casa Grande and Gila Bend is West Pinal Park. $10 per night, no hookups but sites are incredibly dispersed over hundreds of acres, big pull throughs, covered tables and grills, several porta-potty’s. You can run gens if you don’t disturb your neighbors. It was literally a 10 minute dog walk to our closest neighbor. So much better than a rest area or truck stop or private RV park with a page of rules. Awesome coffee sunrise in the middle of saguaros.
