We ordered it from the factory. Originally scheduled to arrive the first couple weeks of December but didn’t show up until the second week of January. But, we are thrilled to have it. We traded a 2015 Winnebago Voyage 30ft 5th wheel. Picking up 6ft in the new KZ DG feels like moving into a mansion!
My hard requirement was an onboard genset (ONAN 6.5). And the non-toyhauler patio! Would have been happier with a side patio but couldn’t find such a setup. So we have to watch RV park length. Boondocking will rock! We also ordered the full timers desk option instead of the standard dinette set. We love it. If you must watch TV while eating, you don’t want it. But with the huge window right there, we like it. We also went with the larger refer, and solar with lithium batteries. The Serta mattress is truly cheesy low end, but we added a 3” memory foam pad from our old rig, so that works.
The first thing I did was change the Morryde rigid steps for the Torklift Glowstep Revolution Uprising steps. Way happy! We had the same storage spot issue of the rigid steps hitting the wall as we have a covered end spot. And I like the adjustable range of the Torklift.
We have an RV pad at the house but it only has 30amp, no septic, and is narrow. So, we took it to a KOA 3 miles from the house for 4 nights. Ran literally everything using 50 amp, 30 amp, genset, and solar and batteries. That also allowed myself and a few scotch buddies to validate the bar functionality.
Surprisingly, the only non-op is the gas oven. The demo tech had some trouble getting it to start but it did during the walkthrough. I suspect a pinched LP line, but no odor, so I’ll leave it to the dealer. The OneControl Panel can be wonky when moving slides, but if I switch to the phone app slides always work. The dealer found a couple odd ohmage readings on the LCI big box, so there’s some comm issues. Waiting on Big KZ to decide on a solution. Until then, I can get everything to work one way or another.
Already have a 3500 mile trip hitting 4 family locales with the rig in May. Will have to knock out a few short local trips to break everything in! Which brings me back to the bar…..
