Hi Everyone,
This is my first post. I am planning to upgrade the battery system on my 2022 180TH Sportsmen Toy Hauler to dual Golf Cart AGM batteries this spring and need some help from anyone that has already done it.
The first thing I notice is that this upgrade will probably not fit in the battery box channels on my camper. This means I will probably have to upgrade this portion of my trailer.
The real question I have is if my charging system will work with the upgraded 225 AH system I am planning to install? I know it will likely not work if I was planning to install lithium batteries, but from what I can tell, it should work for the AGMs.
Does anyone have information on this? Does anyone know what the stock charging system is on this camper? Is there something else I should know?
I use this camper primarily for dirtbiking and as such, I am boondocking all the time. The single 12 volt battery has me running the generator all the time. I figure with the upgraded batteries I should be able to run the heater and refrigerator and enough lights to use the bathroom a couple times all night with just a couple hours of generator in the evening before bed. Does this sound right?
