I have a KZ Venom toyhauler. It came with a xantrex 125 ah lithium battery and a wfco deck mount converter 9855 ad. Plugged in the rv for a week. When i left battery was at 53% and charging. Went to check on it 5 days later and battery was at 45% and not charging. Converter was on but in lead acid mode. Green light on inside the converter. Unplugged it and plugged back in and started charging again. Stayed for a few hours and all seems ok except for the lead acid mode. Any thoughts on why it would stop charging? I am plugged into 30 amp shore power btw.

My Escalade has a WFCO 9865 from the factory with a standard deep cycle lead acid battery. I have a group 31 AGM from my boat I am not using so I called WFCO three days ago. Their statement was: "The 98xx series will handle lead acid and agm batteries with no issues but should not be used with a lithium battery". The inference I got was there is no battery management interface smarts in the 98xx. It is interesting in that AGMs require a slightly higher voltage for 100% charge than either lead acid or lithium but those are words from the factory. That and $5 will get you a latte:) IMHO, you should change the battery or the converter. Good luck either way!

Thank you for responding wahoo. The wfco AD is supposed to Auto Detect lead or lithium and charge accordingly. Not very well apparently.

Cool, I missed the AD designation and had the 98xx conversation on my mind. Sounds like good stuff if it works, sorry you are having issues.

Watched a utube video from wfco about getting the converter into lithium mode. I let the battery get down to 0 and followed the instructions. It worked! My converter is in lithium mode and charged the battery very quick. Hope it stays in the correct mode now.
