So, took both 30 lb bottles to get refilled yesterday. Local shop here in Chino Valley where we have the FW, with a =lot= of traffic. Filled both bottles, brought them back, hooked them up and BOTH were leaking back out of the pigtails. Took them to a local commercial propane dealer, they checked the tanks and said the valves looked perfect; both gaskets had no cracks or cuts. So, I picked up a couple new pigtails, installed them, and no f'n leaks. WTF? These are '16 tanks in a '17 trailer and have had, frankly, very few fills in the years since we bought it in late '18. I've refilled tanks that were probably 30 years old and not had them leak. Just too weird.

Obviously it was the pigtails & they fail like that. Mine did pretty much the same thing, problem is you moved them, for whatever reason (China), pigtails today are really fragile. Every time I refill my tanks I wonder if this is going to be the time I have to replace the pigtails**again**

They, both, were leaking right through the hand nut, around the brass. Yes the hoses were hard and would likely have failed in the next year or two, but I wouldn't have suspected that the =brass= fittings would fail. Lyle

I usually find them leaking right at the crimp. It had to have been the soft nose on the pigtail that shrunk or something weird like that.

I've never been in the military, but owning an RV is somewhat the same; everything's made by the lowest bidder. :-) Lyle

KZ had a problem about then with bad pig tails. Mine were hard and cracked soon after I got my 2017 5W. I had the local propane dealer make new ones and they are still good 5-6 years later.
