We're driving home thru Montana currently. I noticed this morning at 0230 my left taillight was on. I unplugged the truck and it stayed on. I opened the junction box on the tongue to look for any pinched wires. None to be found. Fortunately these are LED taillights. I removed the cover and felt the light assembly, it was warm to the touch. I have no idea how long this has been on. Anyone know how the wires are run on a 22 Connect C241RLK? I don't have a meter with me. I my have to live with it until I get home.
Edit*** Pulling the power plug didn't do anything, turning off the battery finally shut off the light. If either one is on, the light is On.

Sounds like a short...somewhere.

Sounds like you have a connection between #4 and #6 in the plug. Usually red (+12 volt) and green (right turn light).

Sounds like you have a connection between #4 and #6 in the plug. Usually red (+12 volt) and green (right turn light). I assumed when he said, "pulled the power plug", it meant the 7-way connector. If shutting off the battery disconnect turned the light off, that sounds to me that there's an =internal= short in the trailer wiring. Now, I haven't stayed at a Holiday Inn Express lately, so take this with a grain of salt. :-) Lyle

Did some more troubleshooting. Found my 7 pin pigtail had gotten crushed when I turned around in a tight space. The trailer battery + wire was shorted to the turn signal wire causing it to stay on. I got a new cord and got it replaced. Now the stop light is inop. Suspect that constant use blew the stop side of the taillight. Now I have to find a new taillight. Yeah....

Check the fuses in the tow vehicle. I've crushed my cord twice in the last 4 years. Every circuit that was on, blew that fuse in the truck (2016 1500 Ram). All the wires to the 7 wire plug are fused separately. Usually 20 Amp.
I have a long shank padlock the I lock the hitch closed on the ball. Now I run the trailer cord through that padlock when hooking up. No more crushed cords.

Yeah, thanks, found that out today after I changed out the tail light and it still didn't work. Wish my old timers would slow down a bit. I just couldn't catch a break today. Went to change out the 10 amp fuse and the ATO micro fuses i bought at Camping World were toooo big. Now I'm really torqued. Had to find a NAPA that was near by and bought the only box of mini micro 10 amp fuses they had. Well, we're now up and running. Thank you to everyone that responded. So, those of you that have a Chevy Silverado, go buy an assortment of fuses that FIT your fuse blocks. They are NOT a standard size.
Thanks for the idea on the long spanked lock. I'll look into that. Definitely a live and learn problem. Now I know, and knowing is half the problem.
