I have a 2022 KZ 251 RL and have found this on our last outting. Using City Water Connection, *with 0 fresh water being put in by me* the fresh water tank showed up as "Full" on our phone ap, and unit ap. There was water coming out of the fresh water inlet, and a heck of a ground water mess around the camper. Thankfully I explained to the owner that it WASN'T a tank dump, but an unknown situation with city/fresh tanks. I also noticed that there seemed to be some brown materials going out the hookup hose when I emptied the grey holding tank after the black tank. (I have a clear backflush connecting piece so I can see the flow when I empty tanks.
I have yet to find where to drain the fresh water tank, though did find the blue&red valves under the water heater, but not anything obvious for the fresh tank.
Why would the fresh water tank fill to overflowing with 0 water being put into it by me?
Thanks in advance. jl

Hi. It could be a valve issue. The first thing that I would do is completely flip all of the switches on the fresh water panel. Maybe one of them got bumped and is allowing a trickle of water into the tank. If that stops the water fill, life is good! If it doesn't, it could be the ball or gate valve behind the water panel that is malfunctioning or perhaps installed incorrectly. Since it's a 2022, it should be under warranty if you don't want to do that work yourself.
For the grey water, a lot of people dump food down their drains. That could be what you're seeing?

My fresh tank drain is literally behind the left rear tire, a red pipe with a valve on the end of it. Also, it's possible that you could have been seeing overflow from the fresh tank if you were parked on a slope. I had an issue with my fresh tank draining a significant amount out of the overflow / vent and had a shop re-route the vent lines up and OVER the main frame. I was losing at least 5 gallons of my fresh water when traveling into our old boondock site and on 2 occasions had to add water from a "blue cube". 60 gallons of water should last 3-4 days, easily, with no showers, but we managed to run out. I could also see a trail in the road where the water was draining out. Since the mod, we've not had issues.
As for junk coming out of the grey tank, yeah, food does get there and builds up. I was surprised when I started using a clear elbow at how much came out, as we're pretty careful about wiping solids out of pans when we cook and we also, mostly, use paper plates, especially when boondocking (fire fuel after dinner). I was even more surprised when I did a backwash of the grey tank and a LOT of crap came out!

If you have the fresh water valve panel, what johnr said is probably your cause. If you don't, the most likely and common cause of this is the backflow preventor valve on your fresh water pump being stuck and allowing water to flow back into the tanks. Close or disconnect city water. Open a faucet to release pressure, turn on the water pump. Turn the pump off and on a few times with the faucet open. That usually takes care of it. If not, you may need to replace the backflow preventor valve or put a better one between the tank and the pump.

I have this problem. For me it was city water back flowing through the water pump. I think there might be a check valve not working. On mine there is a valve by the water pump for isolating freshwater tank while winterizing that I use to stop water from flowing to freshwater tank.

Thanks for all the input and suggestions on my water tanks. I'll check the valves as much as I can, but as johnr said, the unit is under warranty and I've noted this issue to the dealer and will be dropping the unit off after our next outing. We'll see what they come up with if I can't work though it myself.

Just had a neighbor have the same issue. It was the back flow valve in his pump. He replaced it and all is good.
