I have a 2022 Connect 241RLK that may be having battery issues. My luck is that the battery only has a 1 year warranty and that expired on March of this year. It has an Interstate HD27MDC-1 battery in it now. Just needing suggestions on a good reliable replacement battery if needed.

I use Walmart Deep Cycles and have no issues, Walmarts are every where if I do have.

I'm sure there are many more knowledgeable people on here than me, and I could be completely wrong, but... Your Interstate part number indicates a Marine battery. My understanding is that is different than a deep cycle battery.
A marine battery is like a cross between a car battery and a deep cycle. It has to be able to start your boat motor, but also run your marine radio, fish finder, etc. while the motor is off. A deep cycle is designed to run many smaller load items between charges and doesn't need the huge Cold Cranking Amps that a car or marine battery needs. It just needs to be able to run a slide out motor, or trailer jack between 12V lights, smoke detectors, etc.
I would definitely look for a deep cycle rather than a Marine battery.

Well it says Interstate Marine/RV Deep Cycle Battery on the battery and it is what came installed when we purchased the trailer brand new last year. Going for a replacement this afternoon and pray it lasts longer than 17 months this time ….LOL. Thanks everyone!!

Deep cycle batteries have the staying power and longer amp/hours. They do not have the same cranking amps as a marine battery. A marine battery does not have the staying power. I have 2 deep cycle grp 27 batteries in my boat for the trolling motor and electronics and a marine grp 24 starting battery. I usually get 5 years out of mine.

You can get them in group 24, 27 or 31 with 31 being the biggest with more amp hours. However you need the room for them as they are much bigger than the group 24’s. For the price just get a SLA battery as AGM’s can be very pricey.

The one that came with it which i believe to be of the cheaper variety , used to open the main slide at the grocey store when moving and trying to stock the kitchen after about 6 months it lost that integrity and didnt perform well at all at this point i wouldnt dare try to open it but i do know the battery is bad and the feed from the truck doesnt seem to be enough. i may in fact go with a medium grade style battery since i do plan on upgrading to dual batteries. 6v x2 would be best but since im not gonna buy both now i figure that ill just get a decent one and go for the upgrade to dual 6volts next year. should provide that very deep cycle type responce that seems to be what everyone agrees on is needed.
THANKS!!!

The Battery is completely dead and it's the factory one that came with it. Disconnect the battery when the camper is not in use. There is a constant drain from sensors, converter, antenna amplifier, etc. If the battery drops below 12v, it starts to destroy itself.

Interstate is an excellent battery with a good warranty. Find a dealer near you and replace it.

I have rewired the tongue of my 241RLK trailer. My battery disconnect switch does just that, it disconnects the battery. Not the charger like the factory wired it. When my trailer is in storage it's plugged in, and the battery is shut off, to avoid overcharging. Yeah, yeah, I know it shouldn't overcharge. But I've never had a battery issue. BUT, when the trailer is left at the stealers (dealer) they leave the switch on and it will kill the battery everytime. Guarantee it! So, the rule of thumb is, shut off/disconnect your battery when not in use, period. Turn it on a few days before you travel to ensure its fully charged. Your battery should last 5-7 years. Battery switch should be on when ever traveling for your brakes.

Thanks everyone for all the info and suggestions after I started this thread. I purchased a deep cycle battery from O’reilly Auto parts and it working great. Took it out of the trail for the winter and it has been on a maintainer in my garage. Also battery thieves are very active in this area right now , so that is another reason why I removed it. Thanks again to all.

The disconnect switch disconnects the battery from the camper, not the brakes or charge line in the trail/tow 7 pin connector. I use a wing nut on the battery post and unhook the red wire whenever the trailer sits between trips. Mine comes out and goes on a maintainer during winter storage. In the 14 years with out first trailer, 3 years with the next and 4 years with this one, I've bought one battery for that original trailer in the 21 years.
