Good day to all, I have the above awning on my 22 C241RLK Connect. All was good until a few days ago. While retracting, the power head end of the awning started squealing and shaking. I'm afraid to run this in and out any more. I'm suspecting that there's no lube in the gearing. I'm not a huge fan of this type/style of awning and prefer the older manual style A&E awnings. Less to go wrong. I have an email into Lippet now on another matter concerning my bowed upper support arms. I wonder if this is all tied together. I hate going to the dealer for any repairs, as I can do most if not all of them my self. Anyone else been having these awning issues?
Thanks Chris

I'm with you on the manual awning, the power awnings are less than useless.
First, don't pay the crazy price for a Lippert motor, aftermarket ones are available for cheap. You might find that a window crank motor from an auto parts store is the best option. Compare a Dorman 742-141 to your old one.
It is possible that your bend is overloading the motor and should be addressed.

Thanks, waiting on lippert to respond to my email. Suspect the hydraulic actuator are too much for the awning.

You might want to try lubing the tracks where it slide to open & close. Do not use WD you want to use this stuff, mine chattered and squeeked until I lubed them.

I have some slide lubricant coming. Was going to use that. Yeah, WD isn't good for the awning.
