Help, I was putting out my slide when I returned home from our last trip and just as it got all the way out, I heard a boom. Like something fell. It wouldn’t retract so my husband went under our 2005 KZ Durango, cut a hole in the underbelly and the slide motor fell out on him. He tested the motor and it ran fine. Cleaned it up, added a little grease to the gears and screwed it back up. The slide is going in and out fine but if he tries to crank the Manuel slide it’s extremely hard to turn. It never was this difficult before. Running on power it isn’t binding and runs smooth but manually it seems to be binding up. If we remove the motor it turns fine, put the motor back in and barely moves. The motor is an Adacel Technology M-01C and doesn’t have a break. He can’t find any kind of an adjustment. Does anyone know why this is happening? Thank you in advance.

If the motor runs smoothly and the slide mechanism works well without the motor, it sure sounds like the motor has a brake.

I agree it sounds like a break is on but this motor comes without a break and I was able to manually turn it before this happened.
