We're going to be traveling with our diabetic grandson in a couple of weeks, and I wanted to have the 1.7 cu ft fridge working while we're driving to keep his supplies cold. The fridge is strictly 120 volt, so it doesnt work while driving. It doesnt hold the cold at all when power is removed. So I'll be installing a 750 watt inverter, 10 gauge wiring and supply fuse. I will also be adding a 120 outlet. I'll post up some photos as they become available. Here a picture of the tag on the back of the fridge. As you can see it only pulls 1.5 amps and is 90 watts. This setup should be over kill.

Are his supplies so large that they won't fit in the inside fridge? Given the cost of meds, I'd think you'd want them inside for a bit of added security. OR, are you wanting to move "regular" stuff to the outside fridge to have room for the meds? Just curious.

But yes, he has that much.

Wishing your grandson good health! Lyle

Thank you Lyle. As you can probably guess he's type 1 like his mom. Yeah, it's a nightmare at times

Thank you Lyle. As you can probably guess he's type 1 like his mom. Yeah, it's a nightmare at times I can only imagine. And here I am b!tching about falling into the Medicare Gap because my Ozempic went from $45 / month to $165. Lyle

Well, I tried. I've used 2 different inverters A 750 and a 1000 watt. I will be abandoning the 10 gauge wire installed in place for possible future installs. Going to a higher wattage inverter and larger cable isn't feasible for me, and the cost definitely exceeds the gain benefit. Sorry folks, this project is finished for now.
