Looking to add a 2nd A/C to my KZ. 50amp rig and pre-wired for the 2nd unit.
I'm wanting to add a low-profile, non-ducted unit over the bedroom. The main's a 15k unit and I was told that I should go for the 13.5k over a smaller one, as they're, usually, not much more expensive, and it's better to have =more= cooling, than less.
Looking for opinions and real-world experience with different brands and models.
Thanks in advance.

Another question. In looking around, it seems that the A/C units are sold without the air handler (and controller for ductless). Is this the case for all units?

I added a Dometic low profile to the bedroom of my last fiver. The unit was prewired, ducted and even had a thermostat wire. I originally went with the air handler (it was separate but there are complete units on the market). I later retrofitted to use the existing duct work and remote thermostat that allowed the fan to operate when the compressor came on rather than constant on. The most difficult thing was getting the unit up on the roof...although cutting into a pristine roof caused some concern If you are pre-wired, the framing should exist to make cutting easier. My unit had a plastic rosette screwed to the roof in the center of the existing framing.

AFAIK, the pre-wire on my rig is stubbed out in the existing ceiling vent cove and you simply remove the vent and trim and drop the A/C over the hole. Lyle
